Ridiculos rabbit movie in the Matrix?

  • the scene with the orphans at the Oracles house, behind the kid bending the spoons, on the TV there is a movie of giant rabbits running down an average street.
What movie is that? Come on, one of must know!

Night of the Lepus seems the most obvious choice if it’s a real movie.

It is, indeed, Night of the Lepus.

Tanks y’all. I will see it if I can.

The original book, The Year of the Angry Rabbit, is better than the movie. Not that much better, though.

Bunnies aren’t just cute like everybody supposes
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
and whats with all the carrots?
Why do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies!

OK saw Night of the lepus, it is high camp horror!
In a weird way, rabbits are creepier to me now.
Kind of like Watership down made me think of the animals world differently.
See this movie if’n you like western science gone wrong horror from the 70’s.
Thanks for the tip Dopers!

Did you like the rabbit puppets with either ketchup or paint smeared around their mouths? Oooo, scary.

When my husband and I went to see The Matrix and the scene with the movie came on, he leaned over and whispered “Night of the Lepus” to me. I looked at him funny, and after the film he explained it to me. I still looked at him funny. After we got it from a brother-in-law for a Christmas present, I will admit that it was pretty darned amusing in a “wow, I can’t believe someone made this movie” way.

A little late, but I found a review of the movie.

Oh, and don’t click on the “free stuff” link in the Google ads. It brings up an offer for a free rabbit vibrator. Yeah. Freaky rabbit stuff has a gravity all its own, I guess.
