Ridiculous Hairstyles (Men and Women)

No, the hairstyle I’m thinking of never involves a ponytail. It’s a style of short hair. It’s just sort of the general shape it is in that comic.

No man in the history of hair has ever looked good with a combover. Do I really need to provide examples?

Like this? I kind of doubt it but that panel makes me smile anyway.

Kind of, but the point is more towards the back of the head than on top.

What do people think of short sides but normal top (for both men and women)? Like http://www.mens-hairstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Men-short-back-and-side.jpg It’s very popular now.

Ick on men, absolutely awful on women.

I dislike this ponytail with a poof on top that has been popular lately.

I love that haircut! Especially when it’s very crisp and 1920s – so chic.

I like it. (Well I should, since that’s the style I currently have.) I think it looks really cool on women. I’ve received so many compliments from strangers after I cut my hair in that style.

I always wonder - how do you change your hairstyle when you get sick of it? You can’t just let this grow out, right?

Another one for young men that I have seen is one I call the Tintin - like the French boy detective, fairly short all over but longer and flipped up in front, like this (the cartoon, not a photo).

I think both of these are designed so that young men can show off that they still have plenty of hair in places where they will probably lose it later to male pattern baldness. I say this because I don’t have hair in those places. No, I am not bitter.

Here’s another picture from the movie of a couple of years ago.

Almost all the styles in the thread are what I like to call “reverse mullets,” which I don’t understand at all. They are all like inside-out mullets or the mullet at the top instead of the back and combed backwards.

I generally don’t find any women with short hair attractive, and I place mulleted women in this category. What I do find interesting though, is some of these shorter women’s hairstyles remind me of a style popular with a clique of girls in my high school in the mid 90s. I think most kids referred to them as “Yo girls”- they were white teen girls with short, usually thick hairstyles, huge hoop earrings, and baggy clothing.

That style reminds me of Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire.

I have no idea if these were actual styles in the 1920s…

I like it on men. Short, bristl-y soft on the sides, longer on top…RAWR!

I don’t know how this ever became trendy but it’s absolutely awful and it’s the kind of thing that 20-30 somethings who are wearing it will look back in 20 years and go “wtf was I thinking?”

Something like this, maybe? (Warning: Link is to video.)

not much to add except for angles matter.

What is it with gurlz today and the Skrillex haircut ? It’s totally un-feminine.

I think its kind of douchey on men, but LOVE it on women. I love short hair styles on women.

+1,000,000!

No girl or woman has ever looked good with a topknot.
