I called Bricker on a response he actually made, then you popped in with a tiring(but totally expected by this time) hypothetical about how I might respond if the shoe was on the other foot. I happily give you permission to go this route if it ever actually comes up, even though(as far as I know) it never has before, and you respond with another weak off-topic diversionary tactic(“Do you have anything positive to say about anyone that disagrees with your political agenda?”)
Why don’t you go start a new Pit thread about my hypothetical responses to hypothetical questions, o.k.?
If conservative leaders keep spitting it out, there’s little wonder that the faithful truly believe.
It does say something about the quality of their leaders that they have to rely on lies to achieve their ends, but after eight years of Bush, most of America already knows all they need to about the quality of conservative leaders.
I don’t blame Republicans for thinking that Obama stole the 2008 election. After all, he only won Florida (a state governed by Obama’s brother) by 500 votes and he LOST the overall popular vote to John McCain. If his ACORN allies on the Supreme Court had not jumped in and stopped the Florida recount, things would be a whole lot better now. For one thing, there would be a whole lot less bowing to foreign emperors.
Nah. You’d have to piss me off to get that. At this point, you’re just at the “Geeze, this guy really thinks anybody that doesn’t agree with his politics is evil” level, which confuses and disappoints me, but doesn’t make my fury burn with the heat of 1000 stars or anything.
I can’t do much about the disappointment, but the confusion stems from the fact that I never said that, and don’t think that.
Anything else I can help you understand?
Good on you then. Although judging an idea on its merits in defiance of the prevaling culture to me cuts close to the definition of liberalism.
Sure there’s diversity on the right, but if I could redefine “dittoheads” as all the Fox News/talk radio true believers, they are legion. Folks like you are the exception, whereas among non-conservatives, the exceptions are those who do live up the conservative stereotype of someone who’s “far left”.
This message board, among other things exists so people can express their opinions.
According to you. To me, it seems obvious. When people do things like say that they’ll vote for someone like McCain who they disagree with on just about everything else because they think Obama will take their guns, then the obvious conclusion is that the Second Amendment has become primarily a tool for convincing people to surrender all other rights and interests so they can keep their guns. I consistently find that Second Amendment waving gun lovers are people who put their guns ahead of everything and everyone else. They’ll sacrifice the rest of the Constitution if it means they can sit at home clutching that chunk of alloy, and call that freedom.
Maybe you haven’t said it, but that’s the impression I get from your posts on political and religious topics. You seem to be snarky and condescending to anyone that disagrees with you.
You know, if you’re looking for a forum where the mods enforce a political agenda, I suggest you look to some of the right-wing forums. One I watch regularly is a good example- it’s run like a police state. One popular thread on there right now is: “Are Liberals stupid, or mentally deficient? Why can’t we just have them committed?”. Dissenters are routinely reported to the mods, and have their threads deleted- hell, there’s a whole subforum devoted just to tattling on the posters who don’t play along.
Compared to that place, The 'Dope is incredibly apolitical.
