I saw a picture in an old magazine (1999) of a guy with a strange looking ring. The article was a legitimate one about leadership, and the ring was not mentioned in the article, but the guy obviously was proud of it since it was very prominently displayed in his picture. It seemed odd, and so and I would like to know if anyone recognizes it.
The ring had a flat gold oval face with three symbols on it. At the bottom of the oval was a circle or orb, in the middle of the ring was a candlestick with 7 arms. It could be a minnorah. The top of the oval has what looks like a crown.
I tried to scan the ring, but the quality was not good enough to see it clearly. I think the ring is either something from a religious group or some kind of club or society. It does not look like a masonic ring.
Thanks,
It could be his family’s arms. (as in ‘coat of’)

No-no-no.
Repeat after me:
In Brightest Day,
In Blackest Night,
No Evil Shall Escape My Sight!
Let Those Who Worship
Evil’s Might,
Beware My Power,
Green Lantern’s Light!
Does the language of Mordor appear on the ring when exposed to fire?
Ok, sorry, nothing useful to add to the OP… just finished watching the LOTR:EE marathon yesterday, so that is the first thing I thought of.
Did the article mention any organizations in which the wearer participated?
Egad! Jewish Masons? What will the conspiracy buffs make of this?
I was never a communist.
I was never a Nazi.
I was never an Illuminatum (or whatever the singular, or Cingular, is.)
I was a Mason until last week.
Does your neighborhood have a Bob the Builderburger fast food joint yet? “Can we fix it? Yes, we can!” carries a whole new light, now.
Illuminatus.
