Loved Bad News when I was little and was still a mark. I was genuinely afraid of running into him.
The mark of a great performer. He’ll be missed.
He sure did - national champ, Pan-Am champ (he beat Doug Rogers, who won the silver as a heavyweight in 1964), and was America’s second Olympic bronze medalist. He had incredibly strong arms. I sparred with him once. He threw me around like a basketball - no suprise there - but he was very careful not to hurt the poor stupid sankyu.
