Did the hotel room get a forensic examination to see, for example, if he whacked his head on the edge of that bathroom vanity? Or did the room get cleaned before that could happen?
My thoughts, as well. What happened doesn’t appear to be within the norm, but it’s definitely well within the possible. If you’ve ruled out foul play, then you’re just left with the most probable: an accidental hit to the head which can cause this unfortunate result.
I can well imagine a serious fatal fall in that bathroom. Losing your footing on a wet floor and flying back into the corner of some fixture - a solid hit, where you’re literally off your feet. He stumbles to the bed, lays down, and perishes.
A comedian was recently performing when she passed out. The result was a skull fracture. There’s video of the fall, and it was very violent when her head slammed onto the ground.
Maybe Saget passed out, exacerbating the effect of the fall? Have you ever gotten light headed standing too fast? Could it have been that mundane?
It certainly could have been mundane. But the external bruising HAD to have been obvious and given a man found in bed dead with obvious trauma to the head, the room had to have been approached as a potential crime scene. It just seems weird that there is no mention of blood on the tub or such in any reporting.
I couldn’t remember which king, but googling reveals it was Charles VIII of France:
Charles died in 1498, two and a half years after his retreat from Italy, as the result of an accident. While on his way to watch a game of jeu de paume (real tennis) in Amboise he struck his head on the lintel of a door.[22] At around 2:00 p.m., while returning from the game, he fell into a sudden coma and died nine hours later.[23]
Delayed reaction could have taken place with Saget, too, one presumes. It seems hard to say that it’s more likely the fall/blow took place in his hotel room than somewhere else on the premises.
Could he have taken a nasty, just-so spill away from his room … perhaps alone where no one saw him? Or else he was seen from a distance, checked on, but presumed OK? Then he thought he was OK and was able to make it back to his room?
Translation? He looked badly beat up. Bloody bruises on the back of his head, big bumps, black eyes. Could he have walked through the lobby looking like that and had no one notice? Could. But seems improbable. To me at least and FWIW. And those posterior scalp abrasions means blood should have been on the surface he hit. (Tub toilet faucet whatever.)
It is possible to have major brain bleeding without major external bruising. Shear forces. But that was not the case here. Moreover shear force injuries could be downplayed and bleed later. But multiple broken skull bones, abrasions, hemorrhage under the scalp? Those cause immediate and significant pain.
It sure seems like there is significant information not being shared yet.
I think so. The early reporting was that the police investigated after a call for a wellness check from his family. That suggests his family had some reason to worry about him.
I wonder if the timeline was something like: he walks through hotel apparently fine on surveillance footage, enters hotel room, has fall, calls a family member rather than 911, tells family he fell and hit his head, they can tell he’s not well and urge him to call 911, he loses consciousness, he doesn’t pick up when they call back, they call 911 for a wellness check, police find him dead in the bloody hotel room after the fall. No indication that he was with anyone on surveillance footage. Door logs show no one opened his door after he entered until police arrived. Family said he reported falling. Blood in the hotel room shows where he fell. Pretty safe conclusion he was alone when he hit his head so easy to conclude no foul play.
That would be a story that makes sense. What does not make sense is the not having shared any of that from word go. Family wanting privacy is always reasonable but sharing some but only enough to make things seem suspicious is a bit odd.
He wasn’t declared dead until 4:18 pm of the day he was supposed to have checked out. Family became concerned when they couldn’t reach him after the time he was supposed to check out.
I guess housekeeping hadn’t made it to that room yet.
I supposed they wanted to make absolutely sure no foul play was involved. Celebrities have stalkers and if he had money, there’s always the possibility of someone looking to rob him or jilted mistresses getting revenge. Because of his fame the authorities really want to get this right, not be second-guessed later on, etc.
Whatever happened to Bob will remain a mystery. Hopefully the police did a thorough investigation.
I understand the need to protect any crime scene photos. Hiding the investigation report seems a bit odd. A report about an unfortunate accident shouldn’t cause the family any stress.
I’ll sign on to respecting privacy. But they are in an unfortunate place. This will, reasonably, be taken by the public as trying to hide something, not foul play but something. And what will be created by the public and the media’s imaginations will end up possibly more hurtful than what was whatever reality was.
My dad has passed out twice and fell backwards onto his head. The first time was on a wooden floor so he just got badly bruised. Second time was on a linoleum covered concrete floor and his head was bleeding like a dead body in a movie. The ER doctors told us the head does bleed like crazy.
Seems like he didn’t get hit hard enough or in the right way to break the skin. Otherwise he would have been more concerned for himself and called 911. Or maybe not…maybe famous people are more hesitant to call 911.
I wonder if the injuries could have resulted from several falls over several days or weeks. I once worked with a guy who admitted having regular blackouts and waking up on the ground who still refused to see a doctor about the condition. He got fired after crashing a company truck.
Don’t want to re-read the entire thread, so excuse me if this has already been suggested. What it… He slipped/fell, hit his head, was stunned but conscious, managed to get to his feet only to immediately fall again injuring his head in another area, still conscious enough to get up onto the bed?
