RIP Car Talk (NPR show)

At the risk of being totally naive, might I ask for an explanation?

I listen to (and enjoy) Kire Tak but yeah give me more WWDTM.

While I’m very sad to see them go and wish them the best in their retirement i think NPR’s decision to just keep playing them is a bad one. Either replace the program or replace the hosts. Zombie programing is not what NPR needs.

If you made a call to Car Talk, you got an answering machine. If they thought your call might be good for whatever reason, they call you back when they are recording the show. It airs a few days later after it is edited together to make it seem live.

Oh thank heavens, [url=“Blog Post | Time to Get Even Lazier | Car Talk”]they will still be writing their newspaper/website column**. Can’t do without that shit.

I’ve never had my driver’s license. I’m definitely not a car guy. I loved Car Talk. I will miss Click and Clack. I would rather NPR air new programming than old Car Talk though.

I’m definitely sorry to see them go but it’s a well deserved retirement.
