You’re doing a macho handshake with God now.
Unfortunately, none of us live forever. He was 76, which is in the age range where “natural causes” can claim people who are healthy and vital and they just slip away in their sleep. Or perhaps he had a health issue he kept private.
When I first heard the news (here!), the first thing that came to mind was that he had too big of a heart. Both figuratively and literally. I think I’ve heard that Stallone and Arnold may be concerned about this issue well, as it affects many body builders of that era.

Carl was a big part of the Rocky movies success. I always the movies after Apollo Creed died were diminished.
I liked him on In The Heat of the Night. His character evaluated the last two seasons of that tired show.

That is part of a planned campaign leading up to a live event during the game. I was speculating that he was going to be involved in the live broadcast and they might be scrambling to change it.
As I suspected they had the commercial taped but are now changing it with permission from his family.
