The bat dog for the Trenton Thunder has died just days after his retirement party. The Trenton Thunder is the Yankees AA affiliate. I have been going to Thunder games for years and Chase was always a highlight for my kids. We just went to a game on Saturday and saw Chase’s son Derby retrieving the bats.
Good dog Chase. You will be missed.

Golden Retrievers are generally good looking dogs but both Chase and Derby are gorgeous. I remember being there one time and they had both out on the field before the game. Derby was too young and easily distracted. Chase was getting a bit grey. Derby seems to have grown into the job. Both of them obviously love doing the job which makes it fun for everyone.
RIP Sad. Plus I am projecting because I have a Golden Retriever who is 14 and this just reminds me of things I would rather not think about.
