From the 1970s “Treasure Hunt.”. Autuori was an employee of Barris who played the ‘bonded security agent’ who had placed the $25K check in one of the 30 boxes. Barris juuuuust did outlive him.
Supposedly Autuori’s only job was to respond to Barris when asked the question, “Did you place the $25K check” with “Yes, I did,” after which he would proceed to get the check out of the correct box. Barris would try to have a little fund with him occasionally to try to get him to crack a smile or otherwise break character.
