Who does that leave from GWTW? Cammie King & Olivia DeHaviland off the top of my head.

According to this link, 7 (8 if you include Patrick Curtis, who played the infant Wilkes) are still alive:
You knew that off the top of your head? You must be a real fan. I knew DeHaviland was still with us, but I’ve never heard of Cammie King. What role did she play?
There’s been a lot of GWTW talk in my book group lately. I’m tempted to read the book again.
Bonnie Blue (the older equestrian Bonnie, not the baby).
Unless she sold it over the years, Keyes owned one of the largest collection of pre-Columbian art and artifacts in America. It belonged to John Huston and when they divorced they literally flipped a coin for it. He remained pissed about it for many years.
She was the author of one of the earlier bestselling “Screw ‘n’ Tell” memoirs, entitled- fittingly enough- Scarlett O’Hara’s Younger Sister. Her 3 famous husbands (in addition to a non-famous starter marriage) were:
Charles Vidor
John Huston (1946-50), father of her only child (she was left infertile by an abortion, and their child was a son Huston adopted without her consent and who she wasn’t close to for many years)
Artie Shaw (1957-85) (she was his 8th wife; two years ago she sued his estate and received $1.5 million due to a clause in their divorce)
She was a pretty wild and interesting old broad back in the day.
Without even meaning to, I just wished for her to die.
Sorry, Cammie.
Me too. What a spoiled, whiny little thing!
Sampiro, I wonder if the Keyes bio is still in print. Have you read it?
She was spoiled because Rhett spoiled her. If Scarlett had had half a brain, she would have realized it (before he had to spell things out) that he was lavishing all the love he had for Scarlett on Bonnie because Scarlett would have held it against him.
Also, Margaret Mitchell never had children, so I don’t think she was very comfortable writing characters who were children.
Which may explain why Scarlett’s other children were barely seen- just kind of given birth and occasionally referenced. Scarlett had no great love for them, just a sort of maternal sense of obligation. (IIRC she was actually embarrassed by her second child, Ella Lorena Kennedy, who she thought was ugly, while Rhett was far more of a father to Wade than Scarlett was a mother- some of his most likable moments are with the boy.)
Looks like it’s out of print but available pretty easily and cheaply (cheaper than cover price) from Amazon and half.com. I read it many years ago and remember it being very gossipy and very obviously designed to sell by spilling dirt on the rich and famous of the time… but that is not saying I didn’t like it.
Amazon
Excellent. I prefer dirt over whitewash.
Found it in hardcover for $5.00. I’d be glad to pass it on when I’ve read it. PM me, if anyone’s interested.
Phyllis Douglas (uncredited as baby Bonnie Blue) is still alive. She never had a big career–did a couple Star Treks in the 60s, one as a Yeoman, one as a space hippie chick…
