Tonight is the last episode. Ever.
I really liked this show, although I only stated watching it about halfway through the first season. Good acting, good writing, and some interesting people. Not sure I was on board with the whole Landry killing that guy subplot, but generally this was just a solid show.
I’ll miss it.
Anyone else?
For those of you on the west coast, or at least in the Bay Area, you need to set your DVRs to Ch4, since the baseball game will be on NBC.
Love the show. One of the great shows set in high school of all time. Both the adults and the kids are treated fairly, with real life issues that they need to deal with. Coach Taylor and his wife act like real people do and have the same issues that most people in real life do.
I agree that the second season got really silly, and the current season had a pointless sideshow with Julie going off to college. I like how they have brought back the original cast members over the last few weeks.
ESPN has been showing some of the original episodes from season one over the last couple of days.
Note to those who never watched it, it’s not a football show. Yes, the lead character is the coach of a small-town Texan high school football team, but it’s much more than that. One of the best things about the show is the relationship between the coach and his wife. (And yes, the Landry/Tyra plotline in the second season was really unfortunate.)
One other thing I never quite got: Gracie Belle. Why did they introduce this non-character character? Maybe the writers were hoping to set up some interesting situations in the future, but they never really did. And, sorry about this mom, but that is one ugly baby!
