JJ Jackson, one of the original MTV VJ’s died yesterday at the age of 62. CNN story is here. I must say, wow. I had no idea that he was that old when he was telling us what was young and hip.

My confidential sources tell me that J.J. Jackson died jumping in front of a bullet that was meant for Martha Quinn.
Always sad to see anyone go, but I must say he was by far the worst of the original MTV VeeJays, and overall a lousy DJ. In both mediums he would try to impress people with his supposed knowledge of rock history and get it wrong majorly (these were on-air flubs, so I can’t cite, sorry). Just very lazy in his facts.
