RIP John R. Powers

I’m a huge fan. I bought countless copies of “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?” for people. Every one of them said they loved it.

John R. Powers

I still haven’t figured out how to pronounce Caepan; is that a real name?

I’m really glad I read his books. I’m sorry he’s gone.

At 67. Makes the twist at the end of Unoriginal Sinner even more poignant.

I’m sorry to hear of his death. I grew up Catholic, and identified with the main character.

Also I’ve never seen a pic of him before the OP link. He looks like Robert Vaughn’s brother.

He was an alumnus of my high school (a few decades before me), and I still remember his locker with an engraved plaque of his name over over it. I didn’t realize he was that well-known. As a Catholic growing up, I really enjoyed his books. RIP, fellow Crusader.
