Dead at 58.
Pretty young…
Damn. Percy was one of the guys I’ve had the opportunity to interact with online. He usually used some variant of Percival Pringle (one of his earlier gimmicks) as his screen name at various forums. He was a genuinely nice guy.
BONG
I remember when he first debuted as the Undertaker’s manager back in 1990/1991. He was creepy as hell and scared the living daylights out of my 8-year-old self, and to hear that he’s died is truly sad.
Rest… In… Peaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeee, Paul.

Merged threads. Oohhhhh yes.
Well, given his physical shape, I never figured he was going to live into his 80’s or anything.
But yeah, sorry to hear it.
Shocking. He looked so healthy.
Quite a character. He was a big part of the Undertaker’s early success. RIP Bill/Percy/Paul.
Just heard the news. Apparently it happened yesterday.
One of the last great practitioners of the forgotten art of managing. I put him in the same class as Heenan and Blassie, even if he had to work in the cartooniest era of wrestling.
I remember being genuinely creeped out by him as a kid, and fascinated by the urn, and by the whole storyline he helped perpetuate.
At the risk of sounding cheesy, rest in peace, Mr. Moody.
ding
RIP
Too bad this one’s likely to take, unlike the various times he was murdered by the Undertaker and/or Kane then miraculously he came back.
His last appearance in the WWE, where he got buried in concrete, provided the money he needed for gastric bypass surgery.
Incidentally, he really was a licensed mortician.
That wasn’t his last appearance. He came back at least 2-3 times after that.
Rest in peace, Uncle Paul.
Right, as I recall he reappeared after that and ended up getting pushed off a balcony by Edge and then eventually locked into a meat locker by Kane. I believe that was the last we saw of him.
See, I’m going to be out of town on Friday, but I really need to DVR Smackdown. They have to, have to, have an in-ring tribute with Taker and Kane. Bring back the druids.
He seems to have a reputation as being one of the genuinely nice guys.
Pall Bearer… :smack:
Too soon I know but he did manage the Undertaker you know.
I don’t think it’s too soon. The whole point of his pseudonym is that it was a play on the term pall bearer. Before he managed the Undertaker he worked under the name Percy Pringle.
Huh. I posted mine in the Game Room, but on reflection I suppose it makes sense for wrestling threads to go in CS.
Smackdown is taped on Tuesdays, so there won’t be anything going on there. Any tributes (other than an “In Memory Of” graphic or other inserted video packages) will be on Monday’s Raw.
