RIP PC Club

Granted they probably rate a pitting for locking up the doors with no warning leaving people without jobs and with dozens of customers machines still sitting on the workbenches in the shop area at my local store alone.

But alas I do not have the heart.

When I first started my little puter service I bought almost all my parts there. I was regularly spending $1000-$2000/month there. All the guys knew me, on slow days when I dropped by we would sit around and shoot the breeze a bit, they would hold things for me against policy because I was such a good customer they would point out when things were on sale that they knew I used alot of.

Now that I have my own shop and order from wholesalers, I didn’t spend near as much at PC Club. I still used them for immediate need parts and always looked forward to chit chat with the guys there.

Now its all gone. The little enterpreneur in me takes a certain pride in watching a competitor fall, at the same time, seeing one of the big kids in town go down hard reminds me of just how cruel and brutal this business is and that it could be me tomorrow if I am not careful.
