I didn’t realize he had so many show business connections. Ruby Keeler was his aunt, animal trainer Rudd Weatherwax was his uncle, and his brother played Jeff Miller’s friend Porky on “Lassie.”
Only 59. That’s too soon to die.
Oh, snap!!
The fan funeral should be interesting. I wonder who’s left from the original cast?
RIP!
When I first read the story I thought they were talking about Pugsley from The Addams Family movies and couldn’t understand how that kid was already 59, honestly I’m a little too young to have watched the old tv show except seeing a random scene on occasion.
He did a great job with that character. R.I.P.
I’m sure Wednesday is full of woe.
John Astin and Lisa Loring.
Per our own Eve:
“If only he could have held on two more days the headline could have been 'Pugsley dies on Wednesday.”
Addams Famly. . . son died.
You are a bad, bad person.
C’mon over for a drink some time.
Aww. I feel like I grew up with him. A couple weeks ago I caught an old Addam’s Family rerun and it was a Pugsley-centric episode where he joined the boy scouts. He did a good job.
Among the main characters:
From the TV show, the Gomez actor (John Astin) is the last survivor. (Felix Silla who played cousin Itt in less than a third of the episodes is also still alive.)
From the movies, the Gomez actor (Raul Julia) was the first to die.
It’s a role that is both blessed and cursed.
Sorry, that made me laugh. That’s something only Charles Addams himself or the Dope would provide.
(Link to the ref’d thread: All in the family...son died - Cafe Society - Straight Dope Message Board) - maybe spoiling the joke. If so, sorry Earl!
I loved the Addams family - and 59 is way, way too young to leave the world.
Does Lisa Loring know?
Lisa Loring is indeed still around and has evidently led an interesting life:
There’s also this attempted riff on it.
