RIP Valerie Perrine

Actor Valerie Perrine has died at age 82. Cause of death is complications from Parkinson’s disease.

Although she is probably best known for roles in Lenny and Superman, I most remember her as Montana Wildhack in Slaughterhouse-Five.

I first saw her in Steambath on late night PBS, and she seemed ubiquitous in the 70s and early 80s. RIP.

I also first saw her in Steambath and was stunned.

From The Princess Bride: “There are always too few perfect breasts in this world;” She wasn’t just gorgeous, she could act and had humor too.

I liked her as Dr. Lewis’s (lousy) mother on E.R.

Her’s is a name I recognise; but if asked, I would have guessed she was a 1980s TV sitcom actress, and nowhere near 82.

Rest in peace, Miss Teschmacher.

She was the first choice for the character ultimately played by Raquel Welch in Mother, Jugs & Speed but couldn’t agree on her salary.

I knew her from the Superman movies. I can’t think of her name without hearing Lex Luthor’s angry voice saying “Miss TessmachERRRRRRRR!”
