I’ve liked this song, written by Boz Scaggs, since I first heard it, although it was a while before I could make out most of the lyrics.
Outside the rain begins,
And it may never end…
But I was just wondering if there was anything special about the theme of the song, whether it’s merely a sweet and lovely tune (we sure need more of those these days) or whether there’s something esoteric in what Ms. Coolidge is singing.
She also repeats the line “No need to call the man” or something like that…
I don’t think ol’ Boz was going too deep. The line you’re hearing is “No need to bother now”.
