Man, this still fucks me up. I have been having nightmares about Rita. I woke up with nightmares this morning.

Much as I regret the death of a hot chick TV character, she WAs seriously annoying. And not too smart either. I mean, how did Dex get away with all that shit? I don’t think he told her he needed a weekly Serial Killers Night Out.
Yes, she was annoying, and she wasn’t too bright, but it’s still the tragedy of it all. She was just a lady trying to make a good life, who thought she found a good man. I mean, I really feel sorry for those kids.
She was cast as a born loser, and I mean right from birth. Domineering manipulative bitch mother, total loser first husband, serial killer second husband, and kids with Hollywood first names.
Please keep in mind that she was writeen to screw with your emotions this way. You want REAL tragedy, look at Jackie Kennedy.

Anyway, it was poignant to me, I guess for personal reasons. Sharing stuff like this on the dope is probably a mistake.
If this is true, I’m less than thrilled with the spoilerificness of this post. I just opened this this thread to see if it tended toward “What a bint!” or the other way, and there isn’t anything in the way of a “Prepare to have a major plot point blown if you haven’t seen the latest episode” before that.

Wow, you really ARE over-invested. I am not hateful of fictional characters, because they are not worth that level of emotion. I preferred the pre-Rita Dexter, just like Harry does. 
In the other thread we had some discussion of what hapens to the kids next year. Seems possible that a set of grandparents might take the older kids, but Dex is the bio-parent of Harrison. And I see little Harrison as a serious impediment to Dex’x freedon to kill.
Julie Benz’s character’s death did nothing to slow down her appearances on her previous two series.
The entire point of engaging fiction is to be emotionally manipulated. So talking about how you weren’t emotionally manipulated is beyond the veil of pointlessness.
Whatever.
So is reviving a three week old thread just to post that.
But, in the end, it’s just a couple of writer’s sitting around thinking of ways to mess with you.
