I’m not an RN, I KNOW I couldn’t do it. But I have a lot of nurses in the family, including my own mother, so drachillix can just sit on it with their nasty attitude.

No RNs in my family, but as a former patient with some fairly serious and painful ailments, thank you. I also did a 6 month stint as a nurse’s assistant when I was all of 18 years old, so I got a taste many decades ago, of just how demanding it is. People like you can make two weeks of physical agony (and in a hospital away from home) a hell of a lot better.
On a side note, my nurses said I was a “normie” which cracked my sister and I up, apparently there are quite a few patients who are far from normal, making nurses’ already stressful jobs a lot worse.
And those being total idiots in the thread (dachillix) are Pure D Wrong. I agree with the others upthread, the fact that others have it worse than you, doesn’t make your situation suck any less, and it’s just the epitome of moronic to say so, and especially jerkish to say so in such a snotty way. Like someone else said, you couldn’t even hack it AS an EMT and you’re ragging on the OP? And listen here child, “got fired because family problems made me late too much” is the very definition of “not hacking it”.
