In the interest of intellectual honesty, if you denounced the Swift Vets, you should denounce MoveOn.org and the Media Fund. Or choose to embrace both.
And I don’t know how the Democrats could try any harder than they already do. They are trying their best to relax rules designed to prevent voter fraud, they are trying the same old scare tactics toward the elderly, engaging in "soak the rich"rhetoric to try and rope in the poor…all the same old tricks.
I think that GWB was as vulnerable as a Republican President will ever get. It may have been the last chance for the Democrats in a long time. The 2006 elections will be very interesting for the long term future of both parties.
Uh-uh. Yes, the standard rhetoric from your side. Or perhaps I should say the standard bullshit.
More vulnerable than Bush the Elder? Who in my opinion would have won re-election had the first war still been going on at the time of the election. That’s an extremely simplistic and almost ignorant statement.
I’ll agree with you here. Though if the Republicans take a close look at what happened in Colorado this year, where the Democats took a Republican Senate seat, took what was showing every sign of being a safe Republican House seat, took control of the state legislature for the first time in decades, well, the Republicans should shudder for their future. Changes percolate from the bottom up, and the bottom is changing.
