Robin Williams' Birthday 7/21

Today would have been Robin Williams’ birthday (shares the day with your favorite potato poster). Cee Lo Green wrote a song and teamed up with Google for something really unique. The lyrics are fed into Google searches and it creates a really cool video with the results. You can switch between the normal search results, images (my favorite), and video (or anything else you can search for on Google).

The song may not be your cup of tea (although I like it) but the effects are cool. You can watch the search box to see what the search is for (but you have to look quickly).

My son showed this to me a few hours ago and it worked fine… later to my wife and there were millions trying to watch so it lagged a bit.

Anyway… enjoy. And we miss you Robin.

Sorry that is just the audio… I’ll find the video and post it soon.

That was neat, thanks for sharing it.

His death hit me harder than any other celebrity death I can remember. Just such a shame.

Yes that was neat, Spud, thanks. The song has good lyrics. Oh and happy birthday yesterday.

Sarah Michelle Gellar posted an Instagram tribute that brought tears to my eyes: a picture of her and Robin Williams hugging and laughing, with the quote, “Smile, though your heart is aching; smile, even though it’s breaking.”

“Reality, what a concept” its been my credo since 1978

And as a birthday present (well, not really, but it kinda sorta kinda works out that way), the tunnels just north of the Golden Gate Bridge (usually called the Waldo Tunnel, and colloquially called the Rainbow Tunnels because of the rainbows (originally painted, but I think they’re some sort of mosaic tiling now) on the south side) will soon be renamed the Robin Williams Tunnel, which is strange as there are, in fact, two of them.
