It’d be hilarious if Kim Jong Un actually did it.

This can’t possibly help Kim Jong Un. Schooled in the west and a big fan of American culture (movies and sports) has to be a point of contention with the old school generals that surround him. I can’t imagine they were thrilled when he hosted Dennis Rodman a few months ago and if he actually listens to Rodman now and frees the American prisoner then that makes him look weak both to his own generals and to the world community at large. Imagine how world leaders would look upon a “leader” who’d rather deal with celebrities than diplomats? In addition, if Kim Jong Un was holding this guys release as a bargaining chip for current negotiations, does this plea from Rodman take that off the table so Jong Un can try to save face and look strong? Sadly I think we’re seeing the end of the life long friendship Rodman and Un share with each other. Un’s rock star wife should write a song about this.
I’m always happy when celebrities use their powers for good.
The only way this could work is if Rodman is named Ambassador to North Korea.
I say let’s do it. I know he liked the Bulls, but maybe we can send Allen Iverson as well. He seems stable.
Metta World Peace was born for this role.
