Ron Howard on: The Andy Griffith Show

Here’s a great interview with Ron Howard. I was never a big fan, but of course I saw it often in my youth. I thought this was such a nice interview I would share.

So often you hear only bad things from former childhood actors. It is nice to hear only good memories from him.

Funny how the child actors that go on to bigger and better things usually are the least jaded.

I wonder how his brother feels

As long as Ron keeps giving him work, he’ll probably be okay.

Wil Wheaton has generally had positive things to say about Star Trek; some of the fans, not so much.

One story Ron doesn’t mention is the famous plans for a porn film to be titled:
Opie Gets Laid

It seems after the Andy Griffith show ended, Ron couldn’t find any acting work due to being identified as only “Opie”. He mentioned in an interview/article that he and a friend had seriously planned to make that porno and were close to beginning the film when he suddenly got a call to do some little movie called “American Graffiti”.
Needless to say, things perked up in his career after than and plans for the porno never continued.

Neat insights from Ron Howard, but needs editing (*diluted *for deluded, for one).

Barnaby was a great, disarmingly funny comic strip (done by Crockett Johnson of Harold and the Purple Crayon fame), about a kid and his fairy godfather Mr. O’Malley - I guess the pilot Ron Howard did was a tv version of that. I’d love to see that.
