During my lunch break, I was watching an episode of “Roseanne.” In the “guide” grid, as you’re scrolling through, it usually lists the major stars of the show. Depending on what season it is, you will see Roseanne Barr or Roseanne Arnold; today, it said Roseanne Scamardella. Huh? I couldn’t find any info on this name other than a reference to Turk something and another show I had never heard of. That was all. Is this some kind of inside joke name?
ETA: Turk 182 and Badge 373, Rose Ann Scamardella as herself. Also in the series “Eyewitness News.” That’s all I can find and I’m still confused.
No idea what the relevance is, but Gilda Radner’s character Roseanne Rosannadanna was loosely based on an actual NYC news commentator named Rose Anne Scamardella, which I doubt would be a coincidence. (Roseanne was such a flipping fruitcake throughout that show [and beyond] and changed her name every season so there’s no rhyme nor reason to why she chose it; on one episode she was Roseanne Silva, the surname of the woman she and Tom Arnold “married” in a three-way.)
It could be a case of the guide hiccuping. For instance, my local guide sometimes confuses movies of the same or similar names.
Also, do you live within the broadcasting range of Connecticut television stations? Sampiro’s link says (and this confirms (Warning: PDF Link)) that she was on the area recently in the Hartford area.
