Roseanne's Nuts

I normally don’t watch reality television, but I thought I’d tune in to this one because it’s filmed in Hawai’i and I wanted to look at scenes from the big island.

Yoof, reality TV is tacky. I’ve only watched few episodes of 48 Hours and Hoarders, so I haven’t much exposure to this niche. I know that Roseanne and her family are ratcheting up the bickering and conflict for the benefit of the cameras, but still. I had to turn the sound down because her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. How does her family stand her?

But the film of Hawai’i is wonderful. I’m trying to guess the exact town she lives in based on the driving scenes, and I’m guessing Honokaa, up towards the northeast tip of the big island.

I thought this was going to be a thread about the woman who was arrestedin South Carolina for having Truck Nutz.

I like Roseanne. I tried a few minutes of the show and gave up, because of her language. There was so much bleeping, it was hard to know what she was saying.

I’ve always liked Roseanne and remember her from her stand-up days. Seeing her on various talk shows, she seems knowledgeable about current events and doesn’t hesitate to express her opinion on any topic. She can also be self-deprecating and recognizes her short-comings (bossy, cursing, etc.) I don’t watch so-called reality shows, mainly because I think they’re boring, but being a Roseanne fan, I had to check out her new show and I like it. It’s not a must-see for me, but it’s funny and seems a whole lot more realistic than any other reality show. Hell, when a woman on tv comes out of her bedroom with her hair a mess and no makeup on, that’s reality (and something I can relate to). She doesn’t have a mansion and, apparently, no help. So, okay, she curses a lot. So do I. I can tell when she’s saying the F word and the bleeps don’t bother me since I know the F word can’t be spoken on basic cable. But that’s her; she’s being herself. I admire any celebrity who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about showing off their possessions or how they look. (And she cares about animals and that makes her okay in my book.)

So . . . is the thread title a contraction or a possessive? Or both?

Both. She lives on a macadamia farm now that she’s trying to make self supporting, and of course she’s nuts.

Here’s the BLEEPdamned fuBLEEPing first episode on motherfBLEEP hulu if you’re BLEEPing interested.

That was awesome. I generally stay away from reality shows, but Roseanne is great!

I can’t see garbanzo beans in a salad bar without thinking of her.
