That was my experience with ecstasy too. Nada. Not a thing. I remember when it was legal too, and when they finally criminalized it. There were big ecstasy parties on the last night of legality.
I left off anything used in accordance with a prescription. If those count then add one to codeine (post op) and one to cocaine (topical anesthetic when sewing up a facial wound with exposed nerve).
Jeez, no love for jenkem?
Threadshitting reported.
Crack had not yet been invented during my wild years, so I missed that one.
Thanks a lot for reminding me of my misspent youth. One of the most boring experiences of my life was an LSD … can’t say trip, didn’t go much of anywhere. Some of the others on your list were a lot more fun.
Bwahahaha! And I was thinking the exact opposite: why no “all of the above” option?
I missed crack due to my age and lack of familiarity with Canadian pols.
ETA: I woulda included 'shrooms and nitrous oxide.
I never did mushrooms. It’s still a disappointment for me. The one time I tried acid I paired it with meth. P.S., that’s a pretty bad idea. So if I had it to do again, I’d change both those things.
Same here.
I’m serious. I think it would be interesting to see the contrast between the number of members who have tried these substances and those who have tried nothing.
Booze and weed. That’s as crazy as I ever got.
How long ago were your dark ages? When I did speed back in the late 60s, it was meth.
Like most polls on here, it wasn’t a very well thought out poll. And that’s even after my second attempt. My fault.
Should we try for round three and include a “None of these option?”
For me, in the 70s/80s speed was “black beauties”, caps that were a combination of Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine.
I think both dextroamphetamine and meth were available but I’d guess the former was probably more common since I think it was the drug of choice for truckers. I’d have to check but this probably was a result of its use in WWII.
I had a single joint in college. Actually a single puff. It didn’t appeal to me.
I have no issues with responsible drinking, but I have never drunk much. I like scotch and brandy and Irish whiskey, but to me they’re like dessert–consumed for flavor, not for the buzz. I’ll nurse a scotch for a long time to savor it and have been drunk fewer than half a dozen times.
Wow, almost half of the responders have done coke? Thats more than I would have thought.
I was highly suspicious of the claims of “purity” with regard to molly– the precursor chemicals are too hard to come by, while Chinese god-knows-what is just a shady website transaction away. Yet another case where the prohibition of a relatively benign substance has made the situation exponentially more dangerous, resulting in many more deaths. Pat yourselves on the back, drug warriors!
That’s too bad. You kinda sorta have to learn to get high – to recognize the feeling and get with the flow.
