In Angels in America, the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg follows Roy Cohn around (IIRC, she’s the one who calls the ambulance to admit him to the hospital). In the movie Citizen Cohn, Roy Cohn spends a lot of time talking to the ghosts of people from his past (IIRC, including Ethel Rosenberg).
I got to wondering: since I’ve seen this meme in 2 different places, is there any factual basis for it? As in, did people actually hear him having audible conversations with people who weren’t there? Was there a mysterious call for an ambulance placed on his behalf from his residence? That kind of thing.
Here is what I’m not asking:
-
I know that people can suffer dementia or delusions in the final stages of AIDS. I am not asking whether or not it’s possible that he hallucinated these people. I understand that it may have been possible for him to hallucinate.
-
I know that there is no scientific evidence of ghosts, so I’m not asking if anybody witnessed any ghosts.
-
I understand that talking to ghosts is a common literary device, so I’m not asking about that.
I am asking if anyone saw Roy Cohn behaving in such a way as to make them think that he thought he was talking to ghosts, or if there were any unexplained phenomena surrounding his death (such as a mysterious call for an ambulance).
Thanks.
