Manties.
Since it was only 7 degrees celsius here today (maximum temperature) with a constant rain mixed at times with snow, I didn’t feel any particular longing to spend any more time out there than I had to.
Yes, I am whining.
Yesterday was my last day of work here in Texas and I don’t start my new job in New York until June 25th, so I get a whole month of “summer vacation” to bum around manhattan. Also, I am moving across the country for next to nothing because my mom works for a moving company. Yep. Moving a 2 bedroom apartment from TX to NY for a grand total of $400. And my apartment in NY is huge and cheap and right next to the subway. Everything’s coming up** pbbth**!
I’m done with my exams, and I have absolutely nothing to do for two weeks. Beat that! Plus I’m going to stay with friends in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, and the weather is lovely. I don’t think it gets better than this.
…as soon as school in Cairo is out, we head off to our home in Hawaii for the summer, which is where we live when not enjoying the exciting expatriate lifestyle in exotic locales like Egypt.
Since I, too, have a telecommuting job, I can move half-way around the world for the summer and still work! When I want to, that is.
Rub, rub.
Beat me to it … um, you’re not in Denver are you?
I’m going to have dinner with my family and watch POTC3 with them afterwards on Sunday, and hopefully catch Waitress with one of my friends next week. So there.
Oh yeah? Well, I have a 3 day weekend coming up. Beat that!
Yeah, I got nothin’.
Caribbean Sept-June, Mediterranean July-August. Winter? What’s that?
I just found out this is a 3-day weekend. But apparently it’s only where I work, not where I live: I get to go shopping!
My next doctor appointment is on June 22, which is a Friday; means I’ll be going “home” for a couple days.
Rub what in? Nanny Ogg’s Special Sheep Linement?
You’ll get blisters!
I’m not rubbing anything. I quit my old job, took my two weeks vacation and start the new job the 4th of june with more money and less hours.
Summer hours started this week – half-day Friday (today!) and a three-day weekend and our plant got 1,000,000 man hours with no lost time so free Ted Drewe’s frozen custard! w00t!
Also, everyone apparently thinks half-day off means I’m gone all day today, so not much to do other than surf the Dope.
