Rubbing Diogenes' Nose in Reality

Yeah, that was totally the point, and this thread completely wasn’t about how you were looking forward to a republican assraping in the upcoming election and then backpedaling to “Naaah, I didn’t really care anyway.”

But hey, keep spinning just like those you so regularly castigate. I’m sure it’s different when you do it than when “they” do it.

You care way more than I do, dude.

Incorrect; I don’t care at all. I just think it’s funny to see such an, er, outspoken commentator such as yourself hoist upon your own petard.

(By outspoken, I mean barely literate and exceedingly polarized.)

I didn’t have anything to do with election in Mass. It’s not my petard.

Actually it’s a “party in power screwed up” thing.

50% is not exactly “well above 50%”. And it took an earthquake in Haiti to get him back up to that level.

No, it’s an embittered losers taking revenge thing.

Actually, from what I recall of the commentary of a number of non-US posters to the board, the general Democrat line is pretty conservative by the standards of a lot of other first-world countries.

Hell if I know. After months of unavoidable coverage of the Favre drama, with the end result that he went to Minnesota, which I know burned a lot of Vikings fans to no end, I just enjoy any opportunity for potential mockage.

Yeah Dio needs a good pitting. He annoys the crap out of me. He seems to have a complete inability to remain withing the subject of a thread. The number of thread him and any other one person have back and forth arguments about something other then the subject is ridiculous. I am being a bit hypocritical here though as that doesn’t seem to be the reason for the pitting. Carry on.

BTW him saying:

was pretty insulting to those of us who actual live in the state. You are a good proxy for an ultra liberal which is not representative of MA.

I was all for Favre coming to Minnesota, and wanted to happen last year.

To update you : Favre has had one of the best years of his career, and will be leading the Purple against the Saints in the NFC Championship Game on sunday. A win on sunday will put him in the Superbowl. I will be wearing my vistors’ white Vikings Favre jersey. I assure you, Vikings fans do not regret his coming here. It’s the Cheeseheads that are bitter.

The post immediately after yours gives you the context for that question.

If you knew what was waiting in the wings for the next time he drops below 50% you’d be hiding under your bed.

Does this mean that Obama used the same weather control machine to create the earthquakes that Bush used to create Hurricane Katrina?

Damn, Dio, you’re having a time of it, ain’t you, hoss? Can’t really relate directly, seeing as how I pretty much bask in universal and cordial admiration.

Big in Japan, eh? Me too.

How is a 46% approval rating “rock solid”?

I’m neither a republican nor a democrat, but your attitude is pretty icky. You make it seem more rooting for a team at a sporting event rather than an election of people who are supposed to make decisions to benefit our citizens.

You seem far more interested in winning your little milestones and showing the other side. If you’re under the age of 20 I’ll just write it off as being young and foolish. If you’re over 20 then I honestly can’t imagine living inside your head and I wonder what, exactly, you think you’re winning.

By jove, I think you’ve got it!

Red team, Red team, go Red team! Red team kick’s Blue Team’s ass! Blue team sucks!
Yay! Red team won a game! Yay for my Red Team!

Q: What substantive policies does your “team” represent, and how will this make the country better?

A: Huh? wut? Go RED TEAM, Gooooo!!! Blue team are losers!

This is the standard of political discourse. I blame it on the sports culture, cheering for the “home team” at all costs, and the continuation of the high school myth that worships jocks and laughs at nerds.

Good point. I don’t think Republicans will ever forget how Clinton just dominated them during his second term. Lots of things will fade into history, but if Clinton’s second term is remembered for anything at all, it will because he totally *owned *the Republicans during that term.

He did. He kicked their asses in the '95 government shutdown, and basically got whatever he wanted after that. The impeachment backfired on the Pubs completely. Bubba’s approval ratings actually skyrocketed, and theirs went in the shitter. They lost 5 seats in the '98 off year elections, and the polls showed it was largely over public disapproval of the impeachment charade. Bill left office with a 68% approval rating, while Newt Gingrich ended up resigning in disgrace.

Republicans might want to check their hubris a little.

Or you might. Again, how is a 46% approval rating “rock solid” support? Answer the question.
