I absolutely deny it. The Democrats do not reperesent my opinions or ideology. They are a conservative party. Unfortunately, the only alternative is a far right, religious party.
“Ha ha, Diogenes was wrong! Watch him wail! Rend his clothing! Gnash his teeth!”
“I’m not upset. I was wrong, big deal.”
“Haw haw haw, there he goes! Look at him rant and froth! Let’s poke him with a stick!!!”
Thanks to Airman Doors, USAF for showing a little class in this thread.
That would require Shodan to actually BE better than all this. And he’s not.
(But then, what do I know, according to him, I’m just one of the “Usual Suspects?”)
Sorry, Airman, I like you and all, but by now you should realize that Shodan and Dio deserve each other.
Let’s just say, he’s an underfed painter.
Dio’s pain (or lack thereof) aside, I’m still not sure whether conservatives in general are feeling too good about this. Granted, they should feel good (Sarahfeena has had the reaction most like what I thought was appropriate), but there seems to be this underlying belief that the November '10 and '12 elections have already been decided in favor of Republicans, Obama will never get anything done ever again, health care reform is dead permanently and forevermore, etc.
I mean, it’s a victory for Republicans, to be sure, but I don’t see that it’s as big a victory as their reactions seem to think…
Here we go again…
This could take a long time, folks.
They said all the same crap in '94 after the Republicans won back both Houses. Clinton was dead in the water. Newt Gingrich said he was “irrelevant,” etc. Then Clinton stomped their asses in '96, and really dominated the Republicans even while they had the majority.
It’s normal for the loser party after a Presidenbtial election to get some Congressional gains in the following off-year elections. It’s a turnout thing. It is no indication at all of wher things will go with the President.
Obama 's approval ratings are still well above 50%, which is remarkable during a recessipn. He’s not going anywhere.
This thread is like a Packers fan going into an office full of Vikings fans after winning a monday night game and dancing around taunting them, and chanting “Go, Pack Go” while everyone else is trying to work.
Sounds like somebody is still bitter about getting stuck with Favre.
What demographic are you a proxy for, again?
“personal prejudice” does not equal “reasons”. But I’ve come to expect such dishonest conflation from you and your ilk.
Well, since you evidently have a problem with the meaning of "prejudice, as evidenced above, maybe you’re saying you don’t dig brilliant, kind, thoughtful people. Hmmm…
I don’t think so. But if the dems force it upon the populace, they’ll be heavily for it in November. Either way is fine with me.
Whew, I’m awful glad you put the smilie at the end, otherwise I would have thought you really don’t like me, friend. And that would have ruined my day. Now I can continue to enjoy the fact that MA has a Rep Senator representing them, the fillibuster-proof senate is behind us, and HCR will be dialed back to something more sane. Or the Dems will pay big in November. So, it’s win-win from where I sit.
But do try to enjoy your day, friend.
Must be new math where 49.7% is well above 50%. Average of all the Jan Poll numbers.
Re: The celebrating by the Republicans (in this thread and IRL):
“Scott Brown Wins Mass. Race, Giving GOP 41-59 Majority in the Senate”
That tongue-in-cheek title says so much about both parties, especially how ineffective the Dems are at using their still-significant majority.
Which teams are playing this weekend?
I actually really enjoy DTC’s posts. He’s articulate, passionate and very well informed.
Still, delighted to see him eat a little humble pie
He also has excellent attendance.
Similar words could have been (and probably were, at least on some dumb messageboard somewhere) spoken to the Democrats in November, 2008, and if spoken should have been heeded.
And a B- on deportment . . . well, A- if we grade that on a curve in this class.
Aw, hell, let them gloat, shit, they haven’t had a chance in some time, poor things. I mean, we could offer them a hug, but what they really want is a gloat. Just how they are.
Who is this “you” that you speak of? Unlike you, I do not deign to align myself with either camp of outspoken undereducated overblown inbred cretins that pollute the pit like foam-finger waving facepainted sports fan jackanapes at the ballet.
I just enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a bunch of smug incompetents who don’t even realize the stygian depths of their own failure get taken down a peg or two by the severely outnumbered and almost always outshouted conservative contingent.
I relish even more the double standard presented by this crowd, who are no slouches in the crowing department themselves.
Bravo. Bravo, indeed.
I guess I didn’t notice that anybody got taken down a peg. Elections are not referendums on who’s right or wrong, just who is more numerous.
