'Rubicon' is sooooo slow paced

AMC announced that the series is cancelled.

I agree that it was slow paced, but it was entertaining once you got into it. Also James Badge Dale is a good actor.

That’s a shame. I watched it to the end, and it got really good for a while. Though the last episode was a bit of a disappointment.

Bastards.

Nuts. Thanks for sharing the bad news though. It was worth following though.

Yes, the time between when he stood up from the break room table and walked to the fridge, which took nearly two episodes. :stuck_out_tongue:

You forgot the part where he frowned at his leftover spaghetti for ten minutes before taking it out of the fridge! It was critical to the plot!

It did seem that the spaghetti may have been rearranged by an unknown operative to give the appearance of frowning back at him.

But there was so much latent tension. You could almost feel the spaghetti drying out. I think I may have missed the ‘walking to the fridge’ episode (hopefully not the same one so I don’t look too stupid).

You guys really crack me up sometimes - and I was one of the show’s fans.

Episodes

The three episode dry cleaners arc that followed Spaghetti at Lunch was the series highlight for me.

OMG, the missing pants! The badly ironed shirts! We may never know how they related to his father’s death.

Too bad it was cancelled. Truxton had been voted to kill himself, and it would have been interesting to see if he would do it or try to kill the committee. He seemed to me to be pretty clearly a Cheney stand in.

Astute observation, minus the bad heart and the equally bad shotgun skilz.

It was the spaghetti sauce stain in the shape of a four-leaf clover, you dolt!

Booooooooooooo…

I loved…

…the pace…

… of this show.

Just imagine that the writers and producers opted to get into a pace to rival Detroit 1-8-7 or Blue Bloods, where less than 30 seconds goes by between the introduction of a clue and its investigation and the chase that goes with it.

Just how many episodes would it take to cram in all the Rubicon details?

My guess is that a three-episode stretch could get it done and still feel a bit draggy.

I think that future replies to this thread should be spaced out over several years. Mark your calendars.
