So in a couple threads in Great Debates, Rubystreak has taken issue with something I said, and now she tells me that she is pursuing a harassment claim with the moderators.
I guess she thinks that she owns great debates.
In this thread she presents some info about the legality of divorce. I present my own personal opinion about the personal impact of the the case in question.
Now you can decide who you feel is the most like you and take sides as you wish, but I’d like to point out that Rubystreak clearly started in with me with a bunch of bullshit about how well she knows the law and how I don’t, something I have not once disputed, IANAL and not well versed in divorce law at all.
This is the third thread in last week or so where she has found a bone to pick with my personal opinions on subjects.
But she claims that I am harassing HER.
I made a comment about how a school teacher should have superior reading comprehension and recognize the difference between an opinion on a personal matter and legal commentary. This was over the line, and maybe it was.
So I’ll apologize here. You shouldn’t have better reading comprehension as a school teacher, you should have better reading comprehension regardless of your profession. So I am sorry for bringing your profession into it. (Not that you don’t like to do so when it suits your argument.)
So for her the coincidence of me holding a contrary opinion to hers in Great Debates and arguing as I generally do is ‘harassment’.
Let me clarify because I realize I did recognize that Rubystreak had provided extra information and assimilated that in my response to the OP. So I guess using her info counts as harassment these days.
Mods: If she pursues her harassment claims remind me to send you the nasty private messages where she says nasty stuff about my daughter.
Please tell me what part of that is a commentary on Rubystreak and not a commentary on the law? It seems to ME that it’s pretty clear that I was commenting on the law.
She gets into the irrelevant, “You don’t know the law so you should shut up.”, line later on in the thread.
LOL, mostly I am just venting because she started sending me nasty PMs about how she was reporting me to the mods, with a particularly hilarious insult about my daughter.
Sure, maybe I’m a dick, but I haven’t singled her out, we just happen to have posted in the same threads a few times. I find that’s pretty common that a few threads in a row I will tussle with the same person. I think it takes two to tango, and I am cool with that, but her, “I’m a victim.”, stance is just too much. Anyone who knows me knows I have little patience for people who adopt a victim pose in order to be predatory.

Really annoying is the same as bratty? Not in my world. I’m surprised that a schoolteacher has such a poor grasp of vocabulary. Someone can be annoying while behaving perfectly germanely, as she was. She just wanted me to pick her up and hold her constantly and it’s fucking hot and humid and we don’t have an AC in our apartment. So after hugging her for a while I put her down, and went to put on a shirt. She wanted to wake Mommy up while in the bedroom, and started crying when I took her out of the room and wanted to put her down. Pretty normal toddler behavior, not bratty anymore than many a toddler is. That doesn’t mean normal toddler behavior isn’t annoying as fuck.

Actually if you knew a damn thing at all you’d know that my cursing about child rearing is a theme that I put in threads, which started out with, “Stop shitting in your fucking pants.”, when it was time to potty train.
And there is a big line between saying someone is annoying and saying that they are a brat. One is a personal attack and the other is just a commentary on the emotions you are feeling toward that person at the time. I guess you don’t have any kids if you can’t relate to a toddler being annoying as fuck. My daughter isn’t bratty at all, she’s quite well-behaved, she’s just an incredibly energetic child who tires me out.

But the thing is I wasn’t disputing her interpretation of the law, and that’s what she was arguing. I was willing to accept that she was correct. I just said that I disagreed with the law AS SHE EXPLAINED it. What is pointing out that I don’t know the law other than gratuitous posturing? I never claimed to be a legal expert.
Anyway, I’ll take this opportunity to apologize for the post in question where I called your posts masturbatory and commented on your profession. It’s correct that they were out of line.
