And in my home state in Australia, we have an election at the end of this month. In recent times, our own Trump-wannabe has been gaining traction both at the federal and state level. Here’s hoping that the result in the US shakes some sense into our own maggoty candidates.

I’d just like to say to all the doomers who spent the end of 2024 and most of 2025 telling me that American democracy was over for good, that Trump would “declare an emergency” or “cancel the election” or “send the military to seize ballots” or deploy hundreds of thousands of ICE goons into voting booths to intimidate people into voting for Republicans, and the Supreme Court would stand by and declare that Trump gets to be dictator for life, and that the thousand-year-reich of God-Emperor Trump was inevitable and invincible;

And on a more selfish note does this mean that Sherrod Brown or his PAC will stop e-mailing me twenty fucking times a day to ask me for money?

They mentioned this TS post on NBC, and Commentator Halle Jackson called it “almost brain-breaking” that trump would post that after constantly telling people to pretend he’s on the ballot. I thought that was pretty funny 
The schadenfreude is going to be delicious reading trump’s rants and ravings in the coming days.
As I said in the results thread, this may be a live example of how even the most powerful culture war distraction has its limits in diverting from actual issues, especially economic.
Our commentators here in Australia were pissing themselves laughing about that very same thing.
Over the next two years Trump is going to do whatever he can to destroy the country.
And I hope to God that the Democrats can actually work together, put all their oars in the water and pull in the same direction, for a change. They are really good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
