As a pro-lifer, this guy has done so much harm to our cause that I hope he gets put away for a long, long time. I am avidly anti-abortion and would have no trouble at all voting on the evidence. And there’s a lot of us out there.
Man, you’re crazy.
I mean, hell, why do you think they’re called hand saws? (This reminds me of a missing episode of Home Improvement when Tim gets really religious right before Y2K…)
I seriously doubt it. You might get a hung jury, but no way in hell you’d get a nullification.
I’m pretty much as pro-life as it gets and I agree. If I felt the DP was warranted after hearing all the evidence, I wouldn’t have had any qualms voting for it.
I would rather see Rudolph alive, forced to admit to 1st degree murder and a number of heinous crimes, to execute him while he’s claiming to be some kind of savior or freedom fighter. There’s less of a martyr factor, IMO. And we can be guaranteed that he won’t be allowed to walk by the jury nullification of a bunch of Bubbas and Gomers who mistakenly think he actually did a good thing.
Let’s hope they put him in Supermax; being Manuel Noriega’s bitch would be too good for him.
I oppose the Death Penalty so I find this as acceptable. Though Squink raises an interesting question about taking the fall for co-conspirators.
Wouldn’t spending every single day of the rest of your life in some hell-hole of a prison be a far worse punishment than death?
The guy seems unclear on the concept of “copping a plea” or else is a poor negotiator. Bargaining the prosecution down to four life sentences without parole is not a “win.”
As an aside, I’ll just point out that I hate this argument. Obviously Rudolph would rather get life (even four of them) rather than death. Granted maybe you would rather opt for the death penalty, but I think the determination should be left to the defendant. If they want death, give them life. And vice versa.
Shudder. These “some people” are practically my neighbors. Don’t remind me.
You’re probably not as pro-life* as it gets, unless you secretly approve of murdering abortion providers. There’s plenty of fanatics up in these here hills.

- Using the term as a synonym for “anti-abortion” here, not literally.
Then why is everyone on Death Row trying to get their sentence changed to Life In Prison?
