I can’t stop. I have probably a good 80 games I’ve yet to play once, but I can’t resist picking up 25 games for $25 like with those indie packs. And then other games I guess can go right to the top of my queue to play if I like them enough. But yeah I’m hooked on collecting games at a ridiculous price - I could stop buying them tomorrow and probably still have 2 years worth of playing new stuff.
Edit: And even if you don’t like 2/3rds of the games you buy, you might discover a gem you wouldn’t have otherwise given a chance which will become one of your favorites.
Apparently everyone on Steam got a copy of King’s Bounty: The Legend. If it isn’t in your Library, check it’s store page and it’ll tell you own it and it’ll add to your library if you the button. Either a great deal or a glitch.
I grabbed a bunch of stuff from Amazon (Spore), Steam (Peggle, I think) and a buttload from Gamer’sGate (which is really my store of choice for some reason): Batman: Arkham, Tropico 3, World of Goo (which I’ve been meaning to get forever), Deus Ex Collection, Blood Bowl Dark Elves Edition, and probably something else I can’t remember.
Really happy with the deals, but I’m still playing Civ V (and I quit Dragon Age to play Civ V), so who knows when I’ll get to them. A good problem to have at those prices though.
Yeah count me in as being part of the problem as well.
I just can’t resist good games at cheap prices or even unknown games at ridiculous prices. Five indie flying games for what I spend on a Starbucks at the airport? Sign me up, even if it takes me until next summer to get to them!
I picked up the Stronghold games - I played the first one back in the day and liked the concept and the feel, but got frustrated with the random events (just about to win a scenario and a random fire wipes out your granary and the two years worth of stockpiles inside it. GRRRRR!) I’ve played a bit with the games I just bought and at some point they must have patched that (or I got smarter with my options) because I haven’t seen similar frustrating events. At $5 they are, again, definitely worth it!
The EA Store is offering a buy two or more games get 50% off sale.
I wouldn’t normally consider them at all, but I just read that they recently changed their downloads policy. Before you had to pay to extend the download of your game by a few months, IIRC. Now you can re-download for up to 2 years if what I read right. So when checking out, just make sure you read their terms.
That’s a good deal - too bad Hot Pursuit isn’t on the eligible games list, since that’s the only thing I’ve been wanting to get from the EA games store. Still, some pretty great values there - you could get dragon age and mass effect 2 for $20 for example.
Just noticed Dues Ex was on games for windows love marketplace for a buck. You can use xbox points for it I think (but you don’t have to)
Games for windows live marketplace is apparently doing a $.99 game every day for a week. Today is Shadowrun, no idea if it’s any good.
How they expect this to do any sort of promotion for them I have no idea - you wouldn’t know about it unless you read it on a gaming forum or something. There’s no mention of it being on sale anywhere in the client and it’s not even on a “featured” page or anything - it’s hidden, with no price listed, on the third page of games.
Steam is having a treasure hunt sale leading into the christmas sale, so I decided to create the thread early and combine both sales into one here’s"]thread here.
The GFWL marketplace $.99 sale for today is the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. You should get it and run the stalker complete 2009 mod. That sale was posted earlier today though so there’s not a long time to act on it still.
Now I’ve never used this site, but Greenmangaming.com has Empire+Napoleon Total War GOTY for $16. This includes both games and all DLC, so it’s a great deal. And… because those games are steamwork games, you can take the cd key from them and input it in steam and it will be treated like any other steam game. (edit: There’s only 7 hours left on this sale) - they also have Darwinia and Uplink for a buck, so you might as well pick those up too.
Or you can get the same thing at D2D, use the promo code HOHOHO and it’ll be $20. That code is actually good for anything on D2D for 20% off, including stuff that’s already on sale. There are a few games with decent prices on there now.
D2D’s every 5th order free promo is over, but I guess the 20% off code is the same thing with less variance
Grabbed that greenmangaming deal. Used paypal and they e-mailed a key which I entered into steam, so now I have the full steam versions of those games. Good deal. Looks like they extended for a day and if you act fast you can get it still.
Tue - FIFA Soccer 11 for $19.95
Wed - Dragon Age Origins Awakening for $14.95
Thu - SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition for $4.95
Friday - The Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff for $9.95
This is the first time I’ve seen Medal of Honor on sale, and at 50% off that’s a good one. Still, I’ll probably wait for the Steam sale if only to stay competitive with Senor Beef on my number of games.
