Looks like Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on sale for a little over ten bucks until the 27th. Anyone gonna endorse it at that price? How about the DLC?
I believe the Augmented Edition is a couple weapons and some meta-game add-ons (sound track, graphic novel, etc). No new missions or anything.
I had just started the game when I bought Skyrim and poor DE:HR got shelved. I was enjoying it though although it seemed hella hard (to me) with a pretty steep learning curve. I might just suck though. Spent a lot of time faceplanted – they game really emphasizes stealth over guns blazin’.
I think I bought mine for $10 and don’t regret it and don’t think I will when I go back to it.
Ahhh! Penultima.
Must. Not. Install!!!
I haven’t played the DLC but the base game is absolutely worth ten bucks. I preordered at full price and still thought it was worth it.
Amazon has Deus Ex: HR for $10.19 now if you missed the Steam sale. GMG must have missed the memo and has it for $12.50
I grabbed Payday: The Heist from Amazon and it seems so far to be a great bargain.
First thing: if you’ve never bought anything from Amazon for a download, don’t worry. The game stays in your Amazon account and can be re-downloaded whenever you want. And for Payday, the activation is through Steam so once you install the game you are up and running with it on Steam. No muss, no fuss.
I’ve only tried the single-player so far (letting the AI run my 3 teammates) and the game seems very solid, with moving, short-term goals that play out different every time. I’m still figuring my way around it, but it looks like it has a lot of potential, especially for $5.
Coupons acquired during the Steam Holiday Event are expiring on March 1. I have two that I don’t have a use for, and if someone would like them, I’d be happy to pass them along:
- 25% off any 1C game
- 25% off any 2K game
I also have copies of a few games that I picked up as multiplayer packs over the past few sales:
- Monday Night Combat
- Freedom Force
- World of Goo
I’m “kmatheny” on Steam - shoot me a friend invite referencing SDMB and let me know you want one, and it’s yours.
Penultima is excellent - way better than the original campaign, and almost as good as Adam Miller’s Shadowlords.
That’s not quite fair - Penultima is better if you like funny, Shadowlords if you like drama. Both of them are amazingly well-done, and I enjoyed the heck out of them.
That reminds me, I meant to get a Steam trades/coupons/gifts thread going. We’ve got a few days until the holiday coupons expire, so check it out and give away anything you won’t be using.
GetGamesGo is having a sale. Not much that makes me go “Wow!” except Anno 2070 is $16.99 vs. $50 on Amazon or Steam. Everything else either just doesn’t look interesting or has been recently on sale for less ($14.99 vs Amazon’s $7.99 for AC: Brotherhood).
GMG has Borderlands for $4.99 but it’s not GOTY and not compatible with DLC from other retailers.
People are reporting that buying Anno 2070 is blocked for North American buyers. GetGamesGo says it’s Ubisoft’s decision and they won’t let them sell it there.
Hey guys, I also have a couple coupons to give away, if anybody needs them at this 11th hour:
-25% off Valve
-50% off L.A. Noire
Steam name is same as on here.
You can get a free copy of Cities in Motion for filling out a brief survey for Paradox Interactive. Offer good to March 31, keys sent out via e-mail in April.
I have no opinion of Cities in Motion, having never played it but free is still free.
I just did the survey and it took me maybe seven minutes. It’s questions about what Paradox games you’ve played, thoughts concerning pricing DLC, what matters to you in picking a game, etc. Standard stuff. Obviously you’ll need to provide an email for the key to reach you.
I just bought Vampire: Bloodlines off of Steam for $4.99. Hot damn.
Remember to get the fan-made patches for that, I’ve heard it’s horribly buggy without them - I played it with the patches, and the first half of the playthrough is amazing. The second half has too much combat, but all in all the game was still great. ![]()
GMG is offering a $10 voucher towards a few games. They’re all $60 games but if you were planning on buying one anyway, ten bucks is ten bucks. Code GREEN-DISCO-UNT10 – N. American customers only.
Works on Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur, Syndicate, BF3, Black Ops and The Darkness. The last being not worth it since I’m already seeing it drop into the $25-$35 range on sale.
20% off Mass Effect 3 until Sunday from GMG.
Voucher code TAKEE-ARTHB-ACK20
North American and .co.uk users only. Code works on both standard and N7 Deluxe versions.
With the release of Showtime for Sims 3, Steam is offering 66% off the rest of the franchise. It’s a Mid-Week sale, though, so it expires in four hours.
Also, Borderlands, inlucing GOTY, is a 75% off daily deal if any interested Dopers don’t have it yet.
Looks good but is damn hard to turn a profit, IME.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution $7.50 on gamersgate. Cheap DLC too. I would imagine, since it’s a steamworks game, you could just plug the DLC key into steam.
