Running digital distribution game sale/special thread

Beyond Divinity is today’s free game from GMG. Same deal as above.

IndieGala is having an Android sale. Pay what you want for three games for Android. Pay over the average (currently $5.30) and you get three more Android app games and and additional three indie games for PC. You can visit the site to see previews for all of them.

Unlike their last pack which was almost all Rogue-alikes, this one looks to be a good mix of action, puzzle and tactic/strategy style games. I can’t vouch for any of them since I haven’t had a chance to play them yet.

Dirt 2 is $5 on steam today only (14 hours left) - it’s really awesome and we still play it from time to time.

L4D2 is $5 this week. Not sure who doesn’t have it, but we’ve been getting games together lately.

Steam has a borderlands free weekend with the GOTY edition at $7.50, and also Orcs Must Die for $2.50. Highly recommend OMD to everyone. Grab the complete edition with the little DLC packs for $3.25.

Majesty franchise is 75% off on gamersgate.

One day sale at Amazon. Divine Divinity: DKS is only $5.99 for both Steam or non-Steam versions. Binary Domain for $9.99, Dragon Age double pack for ten bucks and a lot more stuff.

Oops, that’s Divinity 2: DKS in case anyone is looking for it, not Divine Divinity.

I decided to take advantage of the free weekend and try out Borderlands. I quite like it, so it looks like Steam is going to get a bit more of my money. Anyone up for some co-op action?

Indie Gala 7 is up. You know the drill.

Base pack (Pay at least $1): Rig 'n Roll, Space Rangers, Reign: Conflict of Nations + Game to be announced in Week 2
Pay over Average: Death to Spies, DtS: Moment of Truth, King’s Bounty: Armored Princess, UFO: Afterlight + Game to be announced in Week 2

All via Steam keys. Separate Steam keys for all that in case you want to give some away.

Does the Indie Gala have direct downloads or is it only steam keys?

I think it’s Steam only. Unlike the Humble Bundles, I’m not seeing any direct download links, just a list of Steam keys.

Thanks for checking for me. The website implied that it was Steam only, but wasn’t clear.

GMG has a blog post up today apologizing for the previous check-out issues. Several US banks thought “Green Man Gaming” was an overseas gambling site and were blocking attempts to charge through them. They were also having issues with some overzealous fraud prevention measures that were blocking legitimate customers. They’re revising their measures and communicating with the banks and will be releasing more 20% off multiple-use vouchers once its all resolved.

I was never affected by it but I know some people reported that GMG was blocking their credit card or had other issues.

Few deals:
Drakensang Complete Pack is $10.18 at Gamers Gate in case you’re looking for a new (old) RPG
Bioshock Complete is also $10 in case you missed the first 15,000 sales on it.
Dark Messiah: Might & Magic is a mere $3.38. Activates on Steam.

Mafia II is $8.99 at GetGamesGo (Steam activated)
Civ IV Complete is $7.49
Civ III Complete is a mere $1.25 just in case you always wanted to play Civilization but never had more than a buck twenty-five in your pocket.

Cities XL 2011 is $4.98 at Green Man Gaming
The Next Big Thing is $7.48 in case you’re the sort who enjoys the adventure/puzzle genre.

Dungeons & Dragons Ultimate Pack is $17.99 for today only. Includes Neverwinter Nights Complete, Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete, Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 with expansions, Icewind Dale 1 & 2 w/exp., Planescape: Torment and Temple of Elemental Evil.

What, how can they call it ultimate with no Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure bonds?

It’s quakecon which means discounts on bethesda and id games on steam. Skyrim was yesterday’s deal, 50% off, in case you missed it in the sale - still good for another 2 hours. Dwarfs!? $2.50. Another daily deal every day. And if you’re going to preorder Borderlands 2 it’s $20% off there.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior on GreenManGaming for $2, Defcon for $2, Men of War for $2, World of Goo for $4. Cities XL for $5.

Titan Quest Gold on gamersgate for $4. Gothic 3 $2.50.

Note: The cities XL listed above is the 2011 version, which I guess is less developed than the 2012 version.

I also noticed faces of war which looks like a lightweight fast paced WW2 RTS game. It may be bad (user rating on metacritic much higher than meta rating, usually a good sign) but for $2 I’m gonna give it a go - what interests me is that it says 4 player coop, so if anyone wants to give it a try…

From what little I’ve read, one of the main criticisms of XL 2012 was that it barely changed anything from XL 2011 so, for someone unwilling to drop a lot of cash, XL 2011 for $4.99 is probably a better deal than XL 2012 for $19.99. But I’m no expert.

Speaking of Green Man Gaming, PC Gamer had an entry up today with GMG code PCGMR-ALLIN-GREEN for 25% off a game this week. Since it was posted today, I don’t know if “this week” means from now until the 10th or just through the weekend or what. I also don’t know if it’s usable more than once per account.

Edit: GMG has Borderlands 2 for 20% off right now. Assuming the code above works with it, that’d be $36 for Borderlands 2. I’m unwilling to experiment since, if it’s a one-use code, I’d use it up checking on a game I’m not buying right now anyway.

BOO! I could’ve saved like 9 cents!

Today’s summer sale Dailies from GamersGate:
Two Worlds II: GoYE - $9.99
Disciples III: Gold edition - $8.99
Confrontation - $19.98
Alpha Protocol - $3.99

Plus assorted other sales.

Spellforce Complete Pack - $13.60
Dungeons: Gold edition - $7.49
Dungeon Siege III - $4.99
Last Remnant - $3.75

I heard a few people saying good things about Last Remnant when GMG recently had it on sale (this price is cheaper) although the JRPG/arcade looking style isn’t really my thing.
