Aliens: Colonial Marines is $30.80 at GetGamesGo with coupon code LV-426 applied at checkout. I know a lot of people are waiting on reviews, etc but thought I’d mention it in case anyone is planning on taking the plunge.
Steam started regular week long sales in addition to daily, mid-week, and weekend sales. First batch has the flatout series (flatout: ultimate carnage is easily worth $5, not the flatout 3: chaos and destruction though, that’s shovelware after they sold the flatout name), also steel storm: burning retribution, alpha prime, and karateka. I don’t know if they’re planning to run 4 every week, but 4 weekly + 1-3 midweek + 1-3 weekend + daily sale + scheduled/special sales is a pretty aggressive sale schedule.
Also on sale, midweek Fable 3 for $12.50, Awesomenauts $3.39.
System Shock 2 is finally rereleased and available on Good Old Games.
Steam launched with official linux support today, and they put a bunch of linux compatable games on sale. But you don’t have to be using linux to take advantage of the sale.
Of the ones I can recommend
Defcon (awesome abstract strategy game but I’m not sure how many people play it anymore)
World of Goo
Trine 2 (good for pretty much anyone regardless of what kind of games you like)
FTL
Bastion
Others on there are supposed to be good, I just haven’t played them.
That sale reads like “53 Reasons Not To Get Too Excited About the Steambox”.
Not that there’s not some credible indie games in there. But who is going to buy a console to play Trine, World of Goo and Revenge of the Titans?
Not a direct sale, but if you’re interested in Bioshock: Infinite and Tomb Raider or Crysis 3, there’s a promotion through AMD where they’re giving away Steam codes with video card purchases.
I’m not saying to buy a video card. Rather, if you look on eBay and have some patience, speed and luck, you can get a Bioshock/Tomb Raider or Bioshock/Crysis promo card for 50-65% off the retail price of the games. People who are buying multiple graphics cards for computer work or to run Crossfire, etc and wind up with extra cards and want to sell them off to subsidize their purchase.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare on GMG for $12.50. I mention it because we have an SDMB chivalry server. We’ll be playing some this weekend. Activates on steam.
All things Battlefield on sale on origin. $10 for the basic game, $35 for the game and all DLC. Old BF games too. I never ended up buying 2142, but I may try it for $5. Do people still play it?
Civ 5 series 75% off on steam daily sale. $7.50 for base game, $7.50 gods and kings.
War of the Roses is $5 for another day. It’s a medieval combat game like Chivalry but feels/plays pretty differently so IMO it’s worth having both since it’s only $5. It’s slower paced with more teamwork mechanics and strategy, but not as viscerally satisfying as chivalry. If a few people get it I’ll try to organize occasional games alongside our chivalry games.
Mark of the Ninja is $5. It got a 91 meta rating, I haven’t played it.
Serious Sam series is 75% off.
There are too many sales on steam to bother to mention them all at this point - I just mention stuff I find notable for whatever reason - but you’ll want to check steam regularly yourself, especially with the new weekly deals added into the rotation.
Mark of the Ninja is a seriously fun, very well made stealth 2D platformer. The controls are fluid, the gameplay is fun and challenging, and the animation, music, and sound effects are very well made. I highly recommend it, especially for $5.
Woops, I somehow managed to miss Civ 5 gold edition, which has the games, gods and kings, and all the DLC for $12.50. Definitely worth that.
GoG is offering a bundle. Buy any five of the following and save 80%.

Osmos is the Free App of the Day from the Amazon App Store. If you’ve been on the fence and just haven’t wanted to spend the money, now’s the time to pick it up, for your Kindle Fires or Android devices. Today only.
Hey all, I have some GOG games to give away (I think they expire in the next 6 months), I hope it’s okay to give them away in this thread.
Code 1:
Realms of Arkania 1+2 (old school rpg’s based on the Dark Eye setting, haven’t played them yet and got them from a survey)
Code 2:
Divine Divinity + Beyond Divinity (nice action rpg + the not so good prequel)
Code 3:
Screamer (racing game)
Shattered Steel (Bioware mech game)
Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business
Just post the code you want and I’ll pm it.
Suspiciously close on the heels of the SimCity release debacle, Origin is holding week long “Player Appreciation Sale”. Games on sale include (heh):
Cities XL 2012 - $12.49
Tropico 4 - $12.00
plus the usual assortment of shooters, RPGs and sports games.
I’d love Realms of Arkania, Pharod80. Thanks for your generosity!
Here’s a link to the sale.
Natural Selection 2 is having a free weekend. This game is awesome. It’s the complete opposite of all the dumbing down of shooters over the last 10 years. $12.50.
Several spring sales going on.
Gamefly d2d sale - I don’t know if that URL will work tomorrow. They have a new list every day.
GMG has various stuff. Empire total war for $4, or the complete pack for $7. Same with Napoleon. Rome $4 for the complete pack.
So I got Xcom with my pre-order of Bioshock Infinite.
Since I already own it, I’m giving out the key, in case anyone is interested.
