No, this country’s not perfect. Yes, we have a long way to go. But we do have one point we’re pretty damn proud of, which is being the first country to ever have a government declare that people have rights by virtue only of their being human beings, not privileges granted by government.

Sure, the government has fucked some things up and forgotten some important fundamental principals, but there are many of us, millions of us, who are working on it Aldebaran.

Please try to keep in mind that the average, ordinary citizen didn’t come up with the term ‘Leader of the Free World’ and that not all 350,000,000 of us are high-and-mighty riders of the we’re-better-than-you high horse. Please?

Do you think that would be utterly impossible to happen these days in the USA?

Can you also explain, since Eve so far fails to explain, what my comment on something that can be considered as a real possibility under this US government, has to do with situations that can be possible in other nations, like the post of Eve suggests.
Maybe also an explanation about why such disconnected posts have such a stubborn tendency to pop up as follow up for one of mine, disturbing threads and leading to my answers to them, since when someone posts to me I feel somewhat obliged to return the favour.
