I know that.
Some people however don’t seem to know it.
They declared themselves to be “The Leader of the Free World” and “The Beacon of Freedom” and claimed for themselves to be in a position to “bring democracy” while invading and bringing under occupation sovereing nations killing thousands of tis citizens, inshort: doing the innocent things the US is busy doing right now?
I must have overlooked these explaining footnotes. Can you tell me where they are?
Salaam. A
Is it really necessary to turn this thread into an Aldebaran Bashes America fest?
No, this country’s not perfect. Yes, we have a long way to go. But we do have one point we’re pretty damn proud of, which is being the first country to ever have a government declare that people have rights by virtue only of their being human beings, not privileges granted by government.
Sure, the government has fucked some things up and forgotten some important fundamental principals, but there are many of us, millions of us, who are working on it Aldebaran.
Please try to keep in mind that the average, ordinary citizen didn’t come up with the term ‘Leader of the Free World’ and that not all 350,000,000 of us are high-and-mighty riders of the we’re-better-than-you high horse. Please?
Catsix, you could read my first post in this thread.
Do you think that would be utterly impossible to happen these days in the USA?
Can you also explain, since Eve so far fails to explain, what my comment on something that can be considered as a real possibility under this US government, has to do with situations that can be possible in other nations, like the post of Eve suggests.
Maybe also an explanation about why such disconnected posts have such a stubborn tendency to pop up as follow up for one of mine, disturbing threads and leading to my answers to them, since when someone posts to me I feel somewhat obliged to return the favour.
Yep. Read some history. Lots of other countries have done that, too, when they’re top dog. I didn’t even mention China, Germany—hell, even the Dutch in their day!
Stop being disingenuous. It’s obvious you have no interest in discussing or learning, and I have no interest in giving you a crash-course in world history (which you’d never listen to anyway).
As this thread has been hijacked once again by Mr. America Is The One and Only Evil, I’ll just mosey over to Cafe Society and see what’s going on there.
Lute,
No, I just read here that it has its origin in China and came from there to the West. (Maybe Eve should start a new thread on this interesting find)
Really? Then why doesn’t the same “call on it” happens with all the others in this and other threads who comment on the USA? Why are my comments read and taken any different then theirs?
Care to open a thread on that?
I don’t know. Maybe because their arguments are rational while yours are typically irrational? Not to mention rhetorical, illogical, bigoted, and prone to sterotyping. Or, as El_Kabong put it:
Look what else I found:
You said you already know this. So why do we keep having to remind you?
Let me give you as answer on your very original quotes from the most original non-biased or prejudiced member El Kabong and on your own really original non-biased or prejudiced comments:
I think that is sufficient explanation for every non-thread related comment on my posts that ever showed up out of the blue and everyother one that shall keep coming out of nowhere, as long as such members are around.
