Rush fans only.

So I’m sitting here watching A Show of Hands and this message pops up and apologizes for deleting Alex’s voice due to the sensitive and inexplicable nature of the subject matter. What did he say? Anyone know?

Odd. It might have something to do with the personal tragedies that have befallen Neal Peart of late… maybe Neal hadn’t started coping with the events yet (writing Ghost Rider, etc) and Alex made an offhand comment about it.

That’s the only Rush-related sensitive event I can think of.

On another note, Rush rocks.

No, Geddy is on record as saying it was ‘annoying nonsense’ and he (Ged being the one who was ‘producing’ the video) thought it would be better left for the ages.

It’s all in good fun. But none of them have EVER indicated that it had any sense to it at all.

And it couldn’t be about Peart’s losses. ASOH was recorded almost 10 years prior to that.

It was a pretty funny message, what with those radioactive symbold thingies, but I would still like to know.

Indeed.
I have nothing further to add. Just making sure all was well.

I wonder how many responses there would if we were talking about the other “Rush”. That is why I looked at this post.

The two shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Grace Under Pressure is one of my Ultimate Top Five.

Dude, Rush sucks. ambles out of the thread

Get him, guys!

Charge!

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!

We’ll attack him with our massive appreciation for odd time signatures!!

Do we still stone heathens? Or have we reformed and simply lock them up with Beginner Bagpipers?

And the 7-year-old Violinists.

IIRC, Alex said in one interview or another that he himself no longer recalled what he had said by the time people started asking about it, though he did say that it was just silly babbling, not anything of substance or importance. He and Geddy both said (seperatedly) that the radioactive sign inserted in the video was just a joke, and they never thought it would be something that was so extensively asked and speculated about.

As an example let me point out that on the ‘Rush in Rio’ live CD Alex does this during the introductions.

And then he introduces Neil as ‘Carmen Miranda’ and Ged as (I think) ‘The Girl From Ipanema’.

He’s been doing this during the introductions for more than 10 years. He’s getting weirder.
