I’m making one of my small-town pilgrimages to Pittsburgh to see Rush play tonight. Anyone else going?
Nope.
I am, however, going to see Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi tonight. dance of joy
Small town?
I just came into this thread to see if you meant Rush the 70s band or Rush the “big fat idiot”. Actually, the band interests me only marginally more than the man, and I definitely wouldn’t travel to Pittsburgh to see them. Have a good time though!
To be fair, if I lived in Vietnam, I don’t think there’s ANYONE other than my parents or a spouse that I’d make such a trek for.
I saw them 20’ish years ago. Enjoy!
No, but I did see them in Cincy two days ago. 2nd row from stage, right in front of Geddy! It was awesome. I was about 6-8 feet from him. I have some great pictures on my camera phone. I wish I had taken my real camera in, but I was afraid of it getting confiscated. But all kinds of people were taking pictures throughout the show, so I guess they didn’t care. Geddy looked right at me during Red Barchetta. Best concert ever, easily.
Did they do an encore of “Take Off (You Hoser, Eh)”?
Hey! I was there, a little further back though. Wished I had know about the lax camera policy too. Could have brought in a professional camera and telephoto lens.
70s band? 70s band? :dubious:
I saw them May 31 at The Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA! The sound wasn’t all that great, thanks to the wind causing the suspended speakers pointing in my direction to sway back and forth. It sounded great during those brief moments when the speakers were pointed right at me, but otherwise …
The wind also put the kibosh on their pyrotechnics and rendered the smoke machines useless, which diminished the effectiveness of their light show.
But Geddy’s voice was in fine form. He sounded much better than he did on the live CD from the first leg of the tour.
I took my digital camera along, since the Ticketmaster online information stated that “non-professional” cameras were allowed (your pro camera and telephoto lens wouldn’t be) but stowed it in my glovebox after seeing a big sign as I was entering the parking lot that said, “THIS SHOW: NO CAMERAS”. Once I was inside, everybody in the venue seemed to be taking pictures. I guess they weren’t actually enforcing it.
