Rush Limbaugh "dreams of" riots in Denver

Ah, here it is: Operation Chaos.

Riots in Denver?

Has there ever been a riot in Denver?

The Right is now openly calling for political violence against liberals. Will John McCain be asked to denounce that? Will we have 24-7 cable television repeats of Rush’s call to bash in the heads of liberals? Will groups of august pundits be assembled on every news outfit in the country to discuss, in great detail, all of the political implications, both real and imagined, of John McCain’s failure to denounce this prominent Right-winger’s call for political violence against their fellow Americans?

No, we won’t. Because the fucking right wing owns the fucking media in this country.

Sounds like a job for Homeland Security…

(Please wait, Mr. Limbaugh, someone will be right with you.)

Well, technically he’s calling for political violence by liberals. He didn’t specify his preferred target(s), and I think it’s safe to assume that the likely victims of a riot are “all the people in the area”.

WTF? Did I miss a memo? When were we supposed to kill our children and burn our houses down? I’m going to have to start opening those DNC emails.

Sorry, BG - it’s hard to keep track of which quotes you are falsifying.

Regards,
Shodan

I thought we were supposed to abort all our children. What kind of liberal has real live kids to kill?

Anyway, the house-burning program is on hiatus until the price of gasoline goes down.

Sharpton, because he isn’t a senile addict. Rush can just blame it on the drugs and Alzheimers.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? You can’t be this thick for real. This must be some kind of performance art.

None in this thread so far, which should simplify matters even for you.

If all conservatives were as clueless and stupid as you, America would have fewer problems. Unfortunately, for every 100,000 Shodans there might be one Karl Rove, and that’s enough to do wicked damage.

Even expressing a wish for the opposition to erupt in violence and hurt innocent people is pretty depraved. Good to know that even some of his own audience was able to recognize that.

It’s also a ludicrous pipe dream. No matter how pissed Obama supporters became, they would not go out into the streets on a violent rampage. The delegates who go to conventions are long time party loyalists and half of them are senior citizens. It’s not going to be like the 60’s.

Its not even going to go to the convention anyway

While simultaneously wink-wink suggesting that Pub provocateurs might do well to gather in Denver and egg it on; not in so many words, but that’s not an unreasonable inference under the circumstances, considering that the whole strategy of this “Operation Chaos” is for Pubs to vote in the Dem primaries and keep the divisiveness alive as long as possible right up to the convention. Hence the Becket analogy in the OP.

I, for one, am all in favor of rioting taking place if Rush Limbaugh is standing there inciting it, on the off chance he’ll be hit by a stray Molotov cocktail.

I must protest this scurrilous attempt to link Limbaugh and Henry II!!!

It’s almost certain that even though Thomas a Becket exasperated Henry beyond endurance, Henry would not want Thomas assassinated. Not only had they once been the best of friends — and those who knew Henry said that he never completely forgot a friendship — but Henry was well aware that the political consequences of appearing complicit in the murder would be disastrous (which they were). In fact, as soon as Henry calmed down from the outburst quoted above, he issued orders to apprehend the four men who had disappeared from the court.

Limbaugh, on the other hand, appears to know exactly what he’s doing.

Yeah, they happen from time to time, mainly over sports team victories. I can’t remember if there was one the last time the Avs won the Stanley Cup. Otherwise, the last one I know about is this one: Hop Alley/ Chinese Riot of 1880 - Denver, CO - Colorado Historical Markers on Waymarking.com

Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) is urging KOA radio to reprimand Limbaugh.

I find it funny that the people who are most pro-Iraq war ideologically accuse the other side of “killing our children”, personally.

Kampgrounds of American? Jesus, is everybody required to take a position on every single issue these days?

Hear! Hear!

I’ll go one step further: The whole concept, from the name, right on down, of Operation Chaos has always left a bad smell. I’ve argued that crossing party lines to vote in primaries for the candidate that you think is the weakest is a long-standing tactic in states with open primaries, and will again. That doesn’t change that I think it’s still pretty lousy. Gloating about it just makes it worse.

Now, taking credit for the current mess in the Democratic primary process and then gloating about the possibility of violence, because of that same mess, is worse than lousy, and goes full-on into depravity.

And from the left side of things:

Guy from the right says “The left will start riots”, and the chick from the left says “Let’s start riots”…If I were on the outside looking in, I wouldn’t think too highly of the left.
