Would you mind not treating every person who disagrees with you as though they’re maligning all conservatives? People aren’t disagreeing with you because you live in a red state, or because you’re Texan (if you are), they’re doing it because they think you’re wrong. If you lived in the bluest of blue states people would still be arguing with you on this.

Please explain who was discredited by failing to report facts accurately (actually, this is the standard MO of politicians and news reporters)? I assume you’re talking about Rush, which if this is the case I couldn’t care less because I don’t take verything he says as the truth. Again, the only reason I entered this discussion was to talk about the MJ Fox/Rush issue, and present to the community Rush’s side of things that most did not hear (I assume you want both sides to a debate?). I heard his side, and am reporting it with the facts he presented, not me. So attack him please, not me in this.
I didn’t come here to defend Rush with my dying breath. Yes I listen to him from time to time if I happen to be in my car when he’s on and I do find him entertaining, but I listen to Clark Howard, Dave Ramsey, Neal Boortz, Glenn Beck, Bill O’reilly, Dr. Laura, Bill Handel, and Cigar Dave too if they are on the radio. I just prefer talk to music. Should I fact-check everything Cigar Dave tells me? Or go read law journals of specific states to fact-check Bill Handel’s advice? Or assume Clark Howard is a lair in all of his consumer advice? Or believe the banks over Dave Ramsey and max out my credit cards? Or go get a degree in psychology so I can fact-check Dr. Laura?

Dude, you said that YOU gave him the benefit of the doubt regarding the MO ballot initiative. How is that not taking “what he says as the truth”? Moreover, you have not presented facts as offered by Rush or anyone else. Damn near everything you’ve presented as a fact in this debate (whether it came from your head or Rush’s) has been discounted by Aholibah. I listened earlier this week and his position has been severely mistorted. I support what he said and think he is correct and proper in the way he made his arguments.

Suprisingly, it has caused me to be more skeptical (despite some people here thinking I’m close-minded). Your ability to remain calm in discussions and point out things in a factual manner goes much further than someone telling me I have the intellect of a 14 year old or shouldn’t be voting. Thanks for the research.

I’m very happy if my research has helped bring you to a more skeptical attitude when it comes to conservative talk radio. I understand the frustration of the people who are piling on you at the moment – it’s tough when somebody like Rush Limbaugh seems day after day to foist misinformation and bald-faced lies on his listening public and know that the vast majority of that public will never willingly expose themselves to more accurate, nuanced sources of information – but I really don’t want to alienate you or put you on the defensive. You’re here, reading what we write, evidencing willingness to at least consider the possibility that Rush is a demagogue with a shocking disregard for the truth whenever it gets in the way of his agenda or his ratings.

I may check back in on the thread occasionally, but I’d like to largely bow out now with the warm feeling that I’ve done a little bit of good today. And before I go, since the only thing I found earlier regarding Cardin’s position on stem cell research was a press release from his opponent, I did do a bit more digging and found this:

So this recent voting record may have been enough to convince MJF that Cardin was a better candidate than Steele on the subject of embryonic stem cell research.

She did not tell me that she was going to use the video that everybody else was using in a distorted manner, a misrepresentative manner to make it look like I’m mocking or making fun of Michael J. Fox. As I explained yesterday, that’s not the case. We sent the transcript out, by the way, to George Stephanopoulos and Chris Wallace, because they’re both doing shows on Sunday. I’m going to be out of town this weekend. They asked me to appear. I can’t, don’t want to, wouldn’t do it anyway, but I did send the transcript of yesterday’s program explaining all of this, as I explained it to you yesterday. Katie did not, in her e-mail, tell me she was going to use that video from the Dittocam that you’ve seen all over the Drive-By Media. The commentary that they attached to it distorts what I was doing here on the program.

As I have mentioned, I had just finished watching the ad. I never seen Mr. Fox that way. I was shaken and stunned. I have a camera here, and I was describing it for people. This is radio. I was trying to illustrate what I had seen, not in a mocking way, but an informative way for people who are watching the program and hundreds of thousands do each day on the Dittocam. (By the way, welcome to those of you who are.) So the purposeful and willful distortion of this continues, which we addressed yesterday. It’s totally understandable to me why it’s being done.

Oh, man,what a load of back-pedaling crap! That video, linked in Post#54 here, shows Rush to be an adolescent boob making fun of someone. Unless he just got a sudden case of Marionette Syndrome. Bleaaachhh!

who’s going to volunteer up their embryo that they intend to keep? In other words, maybe the harvesting doesn’t kill the embryo, but realistically where is this supply of embryos that someone intends to grow into a child going to come from? Aren’t most of these embryos going to be discards from fertility clinics? To put it not so delicately, haven’t they already been slated for the bio-hazzard trash can? No one’s going to say, “Oh, before you put my future baby in me, suck some of his.her stem cells out.” Are they? Then isn’t Steele just endorsing a reasearch that will never be conducted?

Dick Morris should know better. If 2000 and 2004 is any indication, no, they don’t know when they’re being manipulated. Many of them, anyway.
