I’d love to come up with some clever and scathing remark, but all I can do is shake my head and wonder how this person is possible, how people can listen, can believe, can give him the time of day. Really. It’s stunning.
Desperation? The exact opposite. He has a job. The job pays extremely well. The job is much easier when the opposition is in power. He’s having fun, making tons of money and upsetting you as a bonus.
Doesn’t matter. Rush’s tactic is to merely SAY that the left has defended him. Then he controls the framing of the debate. Then his listeners can debate about just HOW depraved and evil the Libruls are.
If Rush went completely mental, how would his listeners ever tell the difference?
That’s kind of interesting, actually, as a philosophical concept–a guy who starts off like Rush, spouts weirder and less probable bullshit, getting ever richer and more popular, until he finally is reduced to muttering incomprehensible gibberish over the air, while his hard-core fanship keeps marvelling “Did you HEAR him today, when he said 'Gnor bah ice cream Clinton Librul gah!” Wasn’t that just super?"
Psychological, not philosophical. It’s positive reinforcement. The farther he goes, the more positive response he gets from his dittoheads with negative response from his foes (the liberal elitists in the media) as icing on the cake. When he doen’t say things like this, those same good vibes dry up as they move to Hannity and Coulter who always say nutty things.
It’s probably because he wasn’t hugged enough as a child. We need a volunteer to go and hug Rush Limbaugh.
My local talk radio station has stopped carrying Rush after 17 years because of the tremendous increase in his syndication fees. For those of you who do not know Rush signed a new contract about a year ago that increased his salary from 23 million a year to 50 million a year. They have had to put the squeeze on radio stations who want to carry him and many of the smaller ones can no longer afford him. If you can’t pay you can’t play, right Rush. Free enterprise in action, he is pricing himself out of the market.
So . . . where does Rush say that “liberals are equivalent to murderers and rapists”?
All Rush said was that he doesn’t care why Liberals see the country the way they do, just like he doesn’t care why a murderer kills someone. He is saying that in each case, the person that wants to take some action should be stopped, and it doesn’t matter why they want to take that action because the action is inherently bad.
Stoid, I knew you had a bad thread recently, so I guess this is your way of throwing meat to the dogs so they’ll think of you more kindly. You gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.
I’m thinking he took this statement from NOW protesting the beheading being described as domestic violence and … well I still can’t figure out he managed to twist it into them supporting honor killings
