Why the red barrel, are we supposed to think it is a toy tank?
Probably.
The tank’s paint scheme changes:
Happy birthday!
A Leopard 2 was damaged during training. Lost the turret.
5 min into video
That’s why you train. That accident was (most likely) not fatal to anyone and the tank is (according to the video) already operational again. On the battlefield, it’s likely fatal to the entire crew and the vehicle is lost to enemy action.
The value of difficult practical training is something that (thankfully) Russia seems to have overlooked. Sucks to be them.
Thanks!
Pentagon Papers news: Egypt agreed to stop giving rockets to Russia, instead to send aid to Ukraine. Whether that’s still the case after this leaks, who knows?
Ukraine & Russia both accuse the other of killing civilians.
Not breaking news, but interesting: An article about Muslims in Kyiv.
I think they confuse being brutal to the troops with having hard training.
How much area can 3 Patriots protect? It is a good start.
Is the US in a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine?
Short answer: no, not really.
Really just posting for the following para:
Putin has come a long way since the morning of the invasion, when he outlined a brief “special military operation” that would permanently rescue breakaway regions of Ukraine – Crimea and part of the eastern Donbas region – from the “humiliation and genocide perpetrated by the Kyiv regime” during the previous eight years of low-level conflict.
“It is not our plan to occupy the Ukrainian territory. We do not intend to impose anything on anyone by force,” he said in remarks that now seem almost quaint in light of a brutal war to retain and expand Ukrainian territory now occupied by its troops.
Technically true, but only because the situation for Russia is reversed. Back during the Cold War Iran, North Korea, Syria, and such were Russian proxies. Now Russia is the proxy for the likes of North Korea, Iran, and Syria.
Oops
It was an “abnormal descent of aviation ammunition” according to Tass via UPI
“Abnormal descent…?” I mean, if the bomb had gone upwards instead of downwards… but it seems to be that the descent was perfectly in keeping with the laws of gravity…
Russia admitted it???
You mean the theory of gravity? Well, that’s just a theory, right?
[/sarcasm]
Yep. I am as utterly surprised as you are.
Although I guess that the alternative to not admitting it was to let the world (and the Russian population) believe that the Ukranians have managed to hit a city within Russia proper with some big ordnance. Which would definitely not be good for the morale in the home front.
That’s some first rate Elon-speak right there.
Gas line burst… or something.
Toxic chemical spill works well on television.
