Really quite like the dry lake beds in the U.S.
I’d say could be true, but the Telegraph is not the most cautious careful newspaper.
I guess Prigozhin could have made the rookie mistake of not protecting his immediate family. Or maybe he just didn’t think Putin would go after the nieces and nephews, until Putin did.
Prigozhin should have read:
The Daily Telegraph is one of Britain’s “big three” quality newspapers, alongside The Times and The Guardian.
The Daily Telegraph has spent the last decade or so spiralling down into full-on right-wing propagandistic fiction. It was always hardcore right-wing but it used to be reality-based. Now it makes up bullshit on a regular basis. It’s basically the Daily Mail for people with better vocabularies.
Right, it’s The Daily Mail whose readers don’t care who leads the country, so long as she has big tits. That might be the one you’re thinking of. The way to remember is that it rhymes with “Daily Fail”.

Russian state news agency TASS reports:

EDIT: Now, St Petersburg too!
One wonders how much draw they will have after recent events. Also - who’s left to join after all the recent conscriptions into the regular military?
Q:
is it confirmed that putin left moscow on a plane on saturday?
… or is it rumors …
(I think that piece of information is pretty vital at this stage …
Putin’s personal plane fled north before switching off its transponder. Nobody knows for sure if Putin was on board it but let’s put it this way: if you want to be seen as someone who is unafraid and still working hard inside the Kremlin would you allow your plane to fly off empty to fulfil some other task, or would you order it to stay put?
There was tracking of his private jet headed to St Petersberg. Whether he was on it (or if it was actually his plane and not a spoofed identifier) is unconfirmed (and denied by the Kremlin, but that means less than nothing).
hidden by WE?
How about a wild eyed conspiracy theory.
Prigozhin, like Putin, comes from St. Petersburg. (Or so I have read)
Prigozhin backed down, it has been reported, after Putin made threats to his family.
Putin’s plane was heading to St. Petersburg.
What if it was not carrying Putin, but a few of Putin’s people with sledgehammers who were going to St. Petersburg to discuss current affairs with members of Prigozhin’s family?
Connect the dot …
Okay, maybe not. But it seems as likely as any other theory I could come up with.

Breaking news threads are not the place for wild-eyed conspiracy theories.
Fair enough. Sorry about that.
Actually, thank you for your post because I missed that too
(And of course thank you @Balance! I felt that both your posts helped me understand a little better the kinds of pressures that are going on here…)
This could be important (fingers crossed).
Echoes of the Kornilov Affair:
Probably not the right thread for this, but I wonder what will happen to all the various juntas in Africa that Wagner had been supporting now that Wagner forces are being integrated into the regular army?
Wagner boss says his March was not aimed at toppling Putin. Yeah, he’s just a real salt of the earth fellow who loves his men. Or maybe it really wasn’t aimed at Putin. Who can say?
