Russian Soldiers Blow Themselves Up After Getting Drunk on Resupply Run

Three Russian soldiers blew themselves up in a grenade explosion after getting drunk during a resupply run in Russia’s southwestern Voronezh region, according to local media reports. …

The soldiers were ‘relaxing and having a barbecue’ when a drunken conflict occurred.

Nitpick: Adam Savage

In Dublin, drunken disagreements are settled with fisticuffs; in Texas, with guns; and in Russia, apparently, with hand grenades.

Well, to be fair, Russians also use grenades to entertain small children.

Like this?

It’s hand-to-hand-grenade combat.

South Korea is donating two Rhino mine breaching vehicles to Ukraine.

Look at this thing…

…Or, they could just surrender, become Ukrainian citizens, and then buy homes in Kyiv or Odessa. Much easier than fighting their way there, and preserves the property values better.

yep … their plot of land might be smaller than expected …

2 x 1 meters aprox.

Do we have any Russian speakers who could confirm the subtitles?

It was also posted by the Soviet-born Chief Foreign-Affairs Correspondent of The Wall Street Journal, with half a million views of the video and no one disputing it. The auto-bot AI translation is also same.

Fair enough. I just thought it was a little too spot on to be real.

I guess I’m flabbergasted. It’s the equivalent of an Army recruitment ad in 2003 saying if you join the Army you’ll be able to kill all the [insert derogatory and wholly offensive reference to arabs here] you want.

Russian media features plenty of open advocacy for genocide against Ukrainians, along with heaping helpings of colonial racism and imperialist delusions of grandeur. That ad is super tame.

Russia is a fascist state and they talk openly and freely about committing genocide every day on their TV discussion shows. It’s shocking, almost unbelievable, what they say, but the daily repetition makes it routine. It really is like Nazi Germany over there. Reading about Nazi Germany, the question keeps recurring in my head: “how did this happen?”. I get the same question when I read/watch the discourse of Russia today.

The BBC made a independent review of the Ukraine counter offensive. They used geolocated video and photos to verify Russian and Ukrainian positions. I think its very balanced and well researched.

They both said it.

It takes two for peace talks. I don’t see Russia entering peace talks until/if every Russian Troop has been expelled from Ukraine. Then they’ll play the victim.

Funny, that’s the same precondition Ukraine will insist on. Terms to include reparations, return of kidnapped citizens, and Putin with sack over his head.

Here’s a fascinating video on how Ukraine is using drones with thermal sensors to locate land mines. I’m not sure this method would work in the winter but given the right conditions seems to take a lot of guesswork out of walking through minefields.
