Russia invades Ukraine {2022-02-24} (Part 2)

It’s a strong delegation which is really positive. If no deal is struck it will be harder for Trump to claim it’s just Zelensky being obstructive.

None of the (non-Russian puppet) European countries want to see an aggressor who’s trying to change Europe’s internal borders by force get rewarded.

If I was a European leader I might also challenge Trump to reassert US commitment to NATO Article 5, in order to demonstrate that the guarantee behind the proposed peace deal can actually be counted on.

The Anchorage meeting did not go well. It doesn’t appear that much was accomplished.

It.doesn’t seem like there’s much to discuss at Mondays WH meeting.

Did Putin really win anything in Alaska?

I think pretty much all the world outside of MAGA is aware that Trump is a doddering old fool whose brains (which he never had many of to start) are turning into mush. Making him look like a fool is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. It doesn’t enhance Putin’s standing to show up Trump, and we aren’t any worse off than we already are given the political balance of power in Congress.

I’m inclined to think that this doesn’t really change anything.

Russian airstrikes hit a U.S. factory in western Ukraine

KYIV, Ukraine — Two Russian cruise missiles slammed into an American electronics factory in a remote corner of far western Ukraine before dawn Thursday, causing extensive damage and more than a dozen injuries, according to Ukrainian officials. …

The company that was hit, Flex, produces civilian electronic components and products… The company was founded in the U.S., is listed on NASDAQ, and has headquarters in both Austin, Texas, and Singapore. …

Russia did not say why the plant was targeted.

Of course they didn’t say. But they’ve left a calling card.

Attacks on Russian energy should be more effective than bombing a base with drones.

Ukraine has also attacked a couple oil trains bring fuel to Crimea. Video of one below, but I believe they hit another one a few days before this.

Trump’s 50 day deadline to Russia to stop attacking Ukraine has expired today. Of course I have no doubt he will follow through on all his threats against Putin.

As if he might remember something longer than a orange goldfish.

Ah, the “stop, or I’ll say stop again!” tactic.

Russian drones in Poland airspace tonight…

NATO should shadow every single Russian ship with a small commercial ship. Monitor them for drones, dragging anchors, undersea craft and anything else they can try and slip by.

Wow. That’s some serious flying by the drone operator. It drops down to 2 or 3 feet off the ground and flies into the open doorway.
